A largish Weatherspoons at top of the town fairly standard furniture décor with a good range of beer. Ate the food excellent value and decent quality. Service very good. I am getting to like the W brand

Above average Wetherspoon’s pub. The food was freshly cooked, hot at the table, the service very friendly.

Awful place. Worst pub in Winchester. Full of chavs, squaddies & alchoholics taking advantage of cheap shots. Winchester has so many amazing pubs, mainly because all the dross drink here & leave other places alone. Avoid unless you want to end up in the police van routinely parked outside the front door on a Friday & Saturday night.

Dreadful, filthy, ferrel, chav infested pit. Avoid. Bottles on floor when I visited. Manager was pretty ill mannered. Cheap & awful.

The atmosphere here in The Old Gaolhouse Wetherspoons is a great pub is visit for a pint of beer or something to eat. The menu is always different, depending on what night that you visit. The quality of the food is nice and cheap because they do special meal deals. It does get busy after 6pm on a weekday or weekend. Inside the interior is warm and cosy, it could be cleaner but then again its a pub not a restaurant. The customer service is good and have had a good experience from then. Definitely a nice pub to visit for a lunchtime meal or evening drink.

The Old Gaolhouse(Wetherspoons) in Winchester is a lovely family pub. Each night they do special food nights and I especially love Thursday night because its a Curry night and the meal is great, well presented and the customer service is great too.

We went to Winchester to visit the cathedral and then decided to hunt round for somewhere to eat. After walking the whole length of the high street we came across this wetherspoons pub tucked away in a side street at the top of the high street. From the moment we walked through the door we received a warm and friendly welcome from the young manager who was beaming from ear to ear and certainly seemed to enjoy his job. The pub/restaurant was almost full but we were found a table straight away. The food on the menu was varied, with plenty of vegetarian options and they were very happy to cater for specific dietary needs and got each meal correct as they were ordered. The disabled toilets were up to date and clean and very spacious and there was plenty of room to manouever around the pub in a wchair. The whole service, atmosphere and food was a delight from start to finish and you don’t have to take out a mortgage to eat there, throughly recommended.
