Zizi’s has a nice food. Nothing spectacular but they have a inventive menu even being such a mass production restaurant.

We ate here last month when we were in Europe. They were out of the gluten free pizza crust, so I couldn’t get a pizza like I wanted but the staff were so kind and generous. I ordered the Spiedini Pollo instead. It was good and very filling. My husband said this place was his favorite meal in London!

Walked in late on a Friday night…9:30pmish. The server was very honest when helping us choose our dishes and we ended up with a spicy chicken pasta and a pizza with salami, spicy sauce dots, dots of creamy cheese and rocket. The food was solid. Pasta was al dente, the flavors were delicious. I added a touch of salt on my pasta, but that because my companion is anti Parmesan(crazy I know). Otherwise with the fresh cheese grated on top the dish would have been tasty on its own. The view was lovely over the river. It was a lovely meal to kick off our stay in London. I would recommend it and was surprised that it didn’t have a higher rating on Unilocal, but let the server guide you and flag them down more? For a nice experience. They did not add an auto service charge which was nice.

Food was okay but service was horrible and slow. Ordered a pizza and a pasta between myself and my fiancé. Lamb meatballs were pretty bland. The pizza was good. Service was the worst part. Waited 15 minutes before someone took our order. It was about 8pm and there were only 3 other tables in use! After finishing we waited another 15 minutes before grabbing our own dessert menus. The waitresses seemed more interested in talking with each other than doing their job. After waiting another 15 minute we decided to skip dessert and just ask for the bill. The bill came quick but no one came with the machine for another 10 minutes. Again this was an empty restaurant, I’d hate to see how they operate at full capacity. Overall pretty disappointed.

Our experience at Zuzzi was not good. Since the moment we arrived all the way to the end. We had a late lunch on New years eve. Firstly it took about 5 min for any of the staff to acknowledge us. The manager passed right by us and said nothing. Only after every single one of the staff had passed by us that, the only good waiter, took us to our table. We asked for a table by the window we were told that it could only be used for an hour. So we took another one. The second waiter who came to our table and served us was very bad. Extremely loud, rude and complete lack of service standards. We were told before ordering that we could only use this table for 2h??? we asked for a small bottle of wine, that was poured abruptly on our glasses. When our mains arrived we didn’t even have cutlery. We had to take it from another table. Food was average, Lacked seasoning. We had a vegetarian calzone that had pretty much only cheese in it and a vegetarian tortellini. Overall bad!

Dined with my friends yesterday. Food was ok. But the service was REALLYBAD! It was not a busy time, only coup of people eating there. We were asking if it’s possible to sit besides the windows(coz plenty of them looked like available), the waitress was really rude, and she actually meant the window seats all reserved, I got a table for you now, if you don’t want it then go away. We thought she’s the only unfriendly one, but we’re wrong… They all looked really unhappy, didn’t even have any smile on face — We didn’t complain anything to them during the meal!!! But now I just wanted to say I’ll never come back again, either this branch or other. :/

This Italian spot was about average. The food didn’t have much flavor or seasoning to it. I ordered King Prawn linguine which translates to shrimp linguine with a tomato and lobster sauce. I had cheese added to the top of it. Overall the meal itself was good but I would have preferred more seasoning to the sauce. My husband ordered the penne Della casa dish under the Al Forno category. I had a few bites of his and he, too, agreed that the meal needed more flavor. The bread that we ordered before the meals was very good though. Service was little unsatisfactory because our waitress didn’t really check on our once we ordered and then once our food came out. I would give it 3.5 overall.

The worst dining experience I’ve had for a while. I’ve been to other branches of Zizi and have always been ok with the basic dining experience that it offers but what made this experience horrible, was the server. He was extremely rude and not accommodating when we were asking questions about the menu, as we were with friends who had not eaten there before. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and after waiting more than 20mins after we finished our main, we had to signal for another server to have some water, as our rude waiter did not even come back to our table to clear or even offer the desert menu. We ended up leaving and enjoying desert elsewhere. We won’t be going back!

Some solid Italian fare. Came here after a performance at the Globe, and after watching a certain story about two lovers in fair Verona, I was in the mood for Italian food! I wasn’t expecting much, hearing that Zizzi was actually a chain, but it surprised me. Big portions, good prices, and delicious food. I got the Boar Ragu, and it tasted wonderful. It also was made in an open kitchen, where you can see the chef prepare it, so bonus points for freshness! My companions got their specialty pizza, which turned out to be much larger than we had anticipated. It had a nice crispy texture and the sauce wasn’t overpowering; it all blended very well. I would definitely recommend this place!

This Zizzi is in a great location and has good views of the Thames. We were eating there quite late after going out for some drinks first and it was really busy. They found a table for 6 of us though and warned it’s that service might be slower than usual because of a big party they had in. The food was good, my calezone was stuffed full but it was really oily and therefore a little soggy. It was tasty and had a lot of flavour though. The staff weren’t as friendly or helpful as other Italian chains I’ve been to and our visit was let down by a fire alarm that kept going off. The staff didn’t seem bothered by it and we didn’t have to leave but it was really ear-piercingly loud and sometimes went on for 1 second other times it went on for more like 30 seconds and it was really frequent. There wasn’t much of an apology despite it being really disruptive and preventing us from having a good chat. They might not have been able to help the fire alarm bit they could have handled it better which is why I didn’t give a higher rating.

With Zizzi’s you normally know exactly what you are going to get and if I had more time and options then I normally wouldn’t visit however sometimes you have to make do. The best thing about this particular branch is the view. You can sit and watch the Thames go by out of the window. Unfortunately you can also do that from outside. My first problem was the heat. I found the entire restaurant to be far too hot to be comfortable. It wasn’t a particularly warm day outside so I’m not sure what the problem was. The food was incredibly average and some of the pizza toppings were slightly unusual. Our pizzas arrived with potato and crème fresh making up a part of them and I’m not in any rush to try them again. I asked for extra chilli as the chilli oil provided tasted very bland and sadly they never arrived although the charge for them did appear on the bill. I though they could have used another server as the 3 that were working seemed to be a little stretched when it got busy and it proved fairly difficult to get their attention. Zizzi has a little closer to the bottom of my list of places to eat. Hopefully I won’t have to try it again

Frist time here, but pleasantly surprised by the place. Not the most interesting locale but nice and with a view few restaurants can compete with. Webben ordered risotto and a pizza. While we waited we asked for some garlic bread and they came with two boards loaded with freshly baked bread that was wonderful. I’ve never got so much before(Swedish restaurants, watch and learn). The food then… I got the best pizza I’ve had in years! And we eat a lot of pizza in Sweden. Fantastic is just a start. :-) The risotto was also great but not in the same league as the pizza. Good service and you had a nice view into the open kitchen when you got tired of the view of the Thames and St Pauls Cathederal. We will come back.

I’m going to preface this review by saying I went here with an actual Italian and that is as good an opinion as any on what is authentic Italian. This place is not authentic Italian but they do some nice Italian style dishes. My friend had a pizza and I had the crab linguine. The pasta was not Al dente but certainly edible. The crab was Orkney. There were a few chilli’s and a burnt lemon slice(not sure why that was there) an abundance of mushy cherrie tomatoes too. Once I removed the tomato slugs, I could eat it. It was tasty, just not spectacular. My friend said his pizza was alright but preferred his dessert better. He had the Espresso Affogato. The service is good and friendly. The utensils and cutlery are clean. The bathrooms are also satisfactory. Good view of the Thames and foot traffic. Do not come here expecting a true Italian experience. Do come here for a tasty meal that will fill a crack in a pleasant atmosphere.

After finishing our visit at The Globe, we found this restaurant listed on Unilocal. As we arrived, they warned us our seating and meal would likely take about 90 minutes. Part of this due to the busy crowd at Fathers Day and partially because of the great meal. We all opted for the 3 course set meal. 2 of us ordered the King Prawn Linguini and 2 ordered the chicken special. After we all enjoyed the variety of appetizers, the very generous entrees arrived. Everything was wonderful and prepared perfectly. The dessert options included gelato and lava cake. With a final offering of limoncello(not one of our favorites), our reasonably priced, wonderful dinner concluded. Well worth a visit and the entire staff made it even more enjoyable.

Great view outside! The food is amazing, I had a pizza and my friend a risotto. My friend is addicted to risotto but he said it was the best one he ever ate! It was just delicious! If I would live here in London, this would be my daily place!

This restaurant has a view that is amazing. Although it’s not perched atop a hill or floating right above the river, we still had a wonderful view of the bridges and the Thames River from our table next to the window. We dined in the evening, so it was wonderful to see fireworks light up the sky(after we had just witnessed a beautiful sunset) while we were eating as well. Beautiful! The servers were lovely and attentive. I didn’t feel we were neglected or treated in a curt manner although there were plenty of patrons for the waiters to tend to that night. Our waiter was patient with our order and nice as he walked us through the dishes. The food I would rate an 88⁄100. Portions were great, price was reasonable, and the flavors were pretty good. Not phenomenal !$ 6 definitely delicious. My chicken was done well so it wasn’t dry. Even if you’re not a fan of the food, I recommend coming here to enjoy a glass of wine and the view. It’s also a wonderful place to people watch. I don’t have any complaints! Thanks Zizzi! :)

They have got their food-making down pat! Bankside branch can get pretty squished and has a low ceiling which makes everything a bit hectic when busy and the prices are on the high side of ‘not too bad’. Our Calzone was fantastic! They also often have promotions running on vouchercodes etc for decent discount.

I was surprised to see that Zizzi Bankside had an average of 4 stars but then quickly realised the reviews were from two years ago. Lots must have changed between then and now … A friend and I use this Zizzi as our go-to quick bite to eat before an evening at Shakespeare’s Globe(a stone’s throw away) AND they accept tastecard. You’d think that would be a win. Nope. A few weeks ago, we had tickets for a show at 7.30 pm. I arrived first out of our party of 4, securing a table around 6 pm, after a mix up with my lack of understanding of online booking systems and realising I had actually made the booking for two days prior rather than the actual day I needed. But nevermind. I got a table for four, but the hostess had the most dour look on her face from first greeting until the last unsaid goodbye as we literally ran to the Globe to catch our show. Aren’t hostesses supposed to be welcoming? Or at least say a few words here and there? Anyway … I sit. And wait. Servers rush around, failing to make eye contact. Hostess with surly face also fails to make eye contact. No one even glances over at me, let alone offers a glass of water(common restaurant serving etiquette?), until my boyfriend arrives 15 minutes later and we had to flag down a distracted server twice to get me a large glass of wine and a jug of water for our table. Rest of the party arrives, and we are yet to be served. Flagging down yet another server(a different one), we place our orders. We wait patiently(me, not so patiently) until we get our food and the time is nearly 7 pm. Less than half an hour to enjoy food(without burning our mouths) is not ideal. The one star was bumped up to two after a very apologetic server kept us up to date on the cooking schedule of our food … However, it’s times like these that my American-ness rears its head at poor quality service and general lack of attention by staff at a busy central London restaurant chain. I would have much rather gone and gotten a cheaper sandwich and crisps at Eat down the way(even closer to the Globe) than eaten here.

Do not let the size of the plate trick you. When my plate of pasta came out all I could think of «that’s it?» but it TOTALLY filled me up. The sauce was perfect, not too diluted/liquid y and not too thick. The bread was awesome, and the dessert OH my gosh only wish I had more room in my stomach.
