What a BIG disappointment! Not enough staff on a Saturday night, what’s that all about? Strong smell of sick in the lounge bar which was off putting to say the least when ordering food. Lots of customers were complaining about the length of time they had to wait for food. The sarcastic bar man said «they had been advising customers when orders were being taken about the delays on food». We’ll that was odd as I had just ordered and I was not advised of this. The wait for food was 50 minutes and the order was wrong, even though I had reiterated my request to the bar man. The waitress was polite and took the goats cheese and balsamic onion pie away to change but on return the veg was cold and it was obvious it was frozen veg. At £8.45 it was very lack lustre and I’m afraid to say that evening and following day I felt sick and off colour. The combo was better but again nothing special but at least it was hot and none of our group had subsequent tummy issues. The feeling I got was if I had complained about the food it would have not been accepted with grace or interest, I hope I have not spoken out of term unfairly. I will email them with my complaint as they had many posters up promoting pub of the year. Me thinks not xoxo
