Totally fine, which I used to think was the least you could expect from a classic Indian restaurant, but I’ve had several poor experiences in the past year so Woburn seems to be doing ok! I had the lamb korma, my boyfriend had the lamb korai, and we shared a naan and rice. It wasn’t anything terribly special but tasty enough. It also came relatively quickly, which was a bonus as it was lunchtime so I only had about half an hour. The floor seems to be at an angle — most peculiar! The side street it’s on is charming anyway, considering the rest of the immediate area is a bit grim.

Around the corner from Euston Hilton. Decent. Not bad. Had the Chicken Vindaloo and a Kingfisher beer. It was tasty with perfect spice. I ate here two nights in a row. Try it.

Excellent little haunt. Flashy? No. Expensive? No. Friendly? Yes. The ways holes in the wall are meant to be. Good, solid, curry. Authentic but welcoming atmosphere. And better yet, they remember and thank their customers. You can’t beat that.

I love walking around London and coming across little alleys which take you back to a time long gone. Woburn Walk is one of these alleys I have walked down a few times whenever I tried to avoid walking along the noisy and polluted Euston Road. I’m glad I managed to find it again when we were looking for a relaxed dinner to round off a day in town. Woburn Tandoori was the only place open on Woburn Walk on a Saturday night which made it even more attractive. It is just like local Indian restaurants used to be all over London. Most of them seem to have disappeared now or been replaced by flashier versions. Sometime you don’t realise until it’s gone how much you miss something, especially the simpler things in life. And I certainly miss family-run Indian restaurants, dumb waiters and After Eights with your bill. So, walking into Woburn Tandoori is like walking back in time. The restaurant is tiny and nothing special, but I love the fact that it doesn’t seem to have changed in decades. My friend and I could not be bothered to read the extensive menu and decided to opt for one of their set menus. A lot of food for a very reasonable price, and we even passed on dessert and after dinner coffee. The food wasn’t piping hot but tasty. The sauce on some of the dishes tasted very similar and overall it was rather salty, but you almost don’t come here for the food alone but the for overall experience which has a bit of Fawlty Towers feel about it — in a good way(like reminding one of the waiters about his tie being undone — just for it to come undone again).

Still looking for a decent curry in London. This place was close to my hotel and had good reviews on Google. It was very disappointing. The sag paneer was sweet(why?) And not chopped properly. Reminded me of creamed spinach w cheese. The lamb vindaloo should. Be a complexity of Indian spices but it tasted like tomato w chili flakes. Keep looking

A good little find off the beaten path. This may not be the most flashy establishment in town but don’t let this put you off. On offer is a genuine, family-run experience with a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere with good food and drink at good prices.
