A great little pub down an alley, just the was pubs should be. Kind of tucked around the corner near the mansion tube station. A few pints on tap that you can take outside to enjoy yourself if the weather is nice. Didn’t spend much time inside as it was quite beautiful outside.

Stop #13: Mansion House Continuing our trend of random old man pubs, we come to the Hatchet. Honestly, my memory has started to get a bit fuzzy by this point but the one thing I came away with is this: we didn’t belong here. We were bright, loud, drunk, a bit messy, and generally causing a ruckus. The Hatchet is pretty much the exact opposite where somber men come to drink their pint and contemplate life. That being said, your money is good as the next man’s and the pints are drawn expertly highlighting the wealth of experience held by the barman. Drink of choice: A good old English ale. It seemed wrong to drink anything else.

A proper old man English pub right near Mansion House tube station… rather small, rather tucked away and all very traditional(I half expected to see a darts board). The barman was lovely(i am guessing he was serving at The Hatchet 35 years ago). Given its location I guess it would fill up with suits on weeknights– great prices for the Square Mile.
