The Harley Medical Group

I have suffered at the hands of the Harley Medical Group directly and honestly wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I went through with them.
About 5 years ago I had a rhinoplasty with Dr Philip Graham. It went wrong, badly wrong, I was left with a severely wonky nose. I had a revision 2 years later — the HMG wouldn’t let me see another surgeon so I had to go back to someone who had made a terrible mess of my face. Surprise and surprise it went wrong again and I was left with a broken footplate hanging down under my nose. They told me to go back to Philip Graham again, at which point I was in tears on a regular basis. I went back, got booked in for surgery and then the week before (after booking a week off work), it got cancelled. I booked in again and it got cancelled again (almost 4 years into the first surgery at this point). Then Dr. Graham left the company. They sent me all over the country to each of their surgeons to find someone who would fix the mess. Most refused to touch it. After raising a complaint with them about the whole carcrash of a situation (and nose) their regional manager Sam sent me what can be only described as a hugely disturbing letter (which I will upload if I can) threatening that If I went to the press they would withdraw their support in helping me getting it fixed (it has to be seen to be believed!!) and that I should be grateful that they had agreed to pay my travel costs… which was later withdrawn.
I imagine if everything works out you will have a positive experience with the HMG but if things go wrong, and I for one am certainly in a place to say, things DO go wrong, you will be left out in the lurch and treated terribly.
I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to the Harley Medical Group. In the end I was left with not only a visually very bad nose, I struggled to breathe through my left nostril after the 2^nd surgery. I have had to pay thousands to go to a specialist to get it fixed and I still struggle with breathing and, although not as bad as it was, my nose still points slightly to one side.
Do not make the mistake I did and use the HMG. I will try and upload letters I got from them which shows how you get treated when things go wrong to this post.

Warning: Stay away from this company. I had a laser treatment last autumn by a technician who did not know what she was doing. When I complained, no one ever returned my call. I chased it up to find that the woman was no longer there. I was consulted by another technician and given wrong information again regarding the best next step. Finally, several months later I met with another consultant for a review of the issue. I was told there would be a letter of follow up and she would look into some kind of refund or make good. I have been chasing this for two weeks now unable to get any update. If you ring up, they will stick you on endless hold, tell you they are unable to contact your clinic, not ring you back, and not pass on the message. The consultant doesn’t respond to email and left one return voice message with no information, and now is not contactable again (unless you ring up endlessly waiting on hold, etc) There is high churn of laser technicians and If something goes wrong with your treatment the service is truly shocking. Save your money and save your time!

This is a no no. I went in to get rid of two small brown spots from sun. Not a major issue, more like freckles but why not, they had special offers on.
The initial consultation felt more like a visit to someone you owe money or something rather than a medical /​beauty consultation. Yes, of course they offer a service they want money for, but seriously Even retail people are better behaved! Anyway, it was brief, I didn’t get to know much but it seemed perfectly safe to go ahead with, just a bit of PPx. BUT when I got in ad read some papers I was to sign before the first of 6 sessions, I came across teh fact that I should not be taking anything with St Johns Wort, which I was, as a part of some herbal supplement. Luckily I read before signing and the therapist said she can’t go ahead, because it could basically burn my face and scar me for life (was my understanding). Great, I wonder why if St John’s Wort is ‘one of the very few things they can’t treat on’, I haven’t been specifically asked about it during the initial consultation. Them the therapist wasn’t sure how long it takes for it to leave the system (of course, how could she know this from the top of her head, it’s just people’s looks and lives they’re dealing with?!).
She then emailed it’s three weeks. So I go in n three weeks. I tell the new therapist (yes, it is only personal matters so why would you expect to be booked with the same therapist?) the reason the first session didn’t happen. She’s mortified saying that it actually takes 6 months (!) for the herb to leave the body and that she can’t go ahead. Bear in mind they still have my money and I am being super polite about it. When I leave I expect some email about what is going to happen next, i.e. are they going to keep my money for 6 months? Nothing happens, so I contacted them and am expecting refund. I also found some horrible reviews since then (yes, burns on face and neck, you name it). It is also very expensive compared to high street, what they are asking. For a company which charges premium and prides itself to be number 1 in the country I would say this is worse than poor. There’s no way I’m going back, ever. It actually didn’t feel safe. It felt like they picked some random sales women from Carephone Warehouse and dressed them in a nurse uniform. There should be regulations in this country!
