Oregano Leaf Pizza

I’m sure this pizza is great when it’s hot. Our delivery took over an hour though and everything was cold when it arrived. They also forgot part of the order. When the fries came separately they were cold and soggy and only filled half the box. The guy on the phone didn’t really care or apologise when we called to find out what happened.

I received a flyer for Oregano’s in my mailbox an since it seemed better than the other takeaway pizzas in the area, I thought I’d give it a try. Based on the menu I was expecting something decent, but this, no way! Oregano makes the best pizza I’ve had since I moved from Milan, and even by Italian standards it’s above par.
I’m usually quite happy with some of the other pizzas I can get in London, but most of the good ones are priced like lambourghinis and even then, while gourmet and topped with the finest ingredients, they never quite have that Milanese touch that I’ve been missing.
Apart from the pizzas I’ve only yet sampled the tricolore salad. Taste wise it was equally great, but in terms of value, maybe a bit on the small side.
As I am new to the area I am delighted to find this gem along with all the other suprisingly great and fairly cheap eats Camberwell has to offer. Thank god for the competiton from other restaurants though, or I would start having pizza 7 days a week.
Can’t wait to go back!
