As Unilocaler, you gotta love a place that’s called like this right? Local Hero ! This is the closest coffee shop from where I’m staying, but this clearly isn’t the only reason why I start my days with one of their cappucino to go. Here’s why : 1) their coffee is delicious 2) they’re problably the sweetest team ever. Full house every weekend, their healthy breakfasts and lunches are a hit ! A Lovely little coffee place to check out if you’re on fulham road !

Great for brunch, not usually too busy. Not setting the world on fire from an originality or décor perspective but comfortable with friendly service.

Probably one of the last few cafes to be checked out by myself in this area… I desisted from going in there before this because the steps upfront deterred me from going in with my huge buggy… now that baby can sit up, I took her in the other day and voila, had no idea this place has a back garden… what a shame summer is nearly gone or I would be frequenting this place. Liked the standard orders of latte and flat white and * loved * the moist, fresh caramel brownie — yum. The smoothies /juices and brunch options look promising… I know where I’ll be heading for brunch sometime in the next few days =) Hopefully on a sunny day when I can enjoy the garden out back…

Was in the area with a friend and we both fancied a coffee. Didn’t want to go to a chain so had a look on Unilocal and found Local Hero. They served soya milk, which was great. We saw the blueberry muffin and all of a sudden wanted some so had that as well and it tasted so good. The coffee was really nice and made well. If I am back in the area, will definitely come back.

Great coffees and good selection of mix and match of healthy salads which can be taken away. If you’re after a treat the brownies are also fab! Staff are friendly and serve quickly at the counter. I haven’t eaten in yet but would like to do so soon.

Sometimes I just roll out of bed on a weekend and want a coffee and decent breakfast or brunch somewhere that is consistent. Local Hero is just that place. It has a good crossover of breakfast food and brunch food available for those awkward late morning cravings where you can’t decide which way to go! I had great eggs benedict here with a nice strong coffee out in the back courtyard. Low key, simple, classic breakfst with no fuss and no pretention. Great for catching those early morning rays too. The coffee has definitely improved over time. The breakfast shake is also awesome — yogurt/honey/museli goodness ready to go(yes I had one of those at the same time!) Fresh juices and cakes just make the choices all the more difficult. I love the small selection of pastries and takeaway salads at the counter as well. There isn’t much seating so be prepared to wait or grab takeaway.

Good coffee & food, nice music, super friendly staff… I’m not a big fan of the layout of the place though, there isn’t that«cozy» touch I seek on Sunday afternoons, when I want to forget that I’ll have to work the next day and just want to drawn in any kind of chocolate pastry.

This is a nice local coffee shop. They do an okay espresso, it can be a little weak at times. Nice atmosphere in the place, in the warmer weather their little coffee garden at the back is nice. Food wise they do some nice breakfast items and their pastries are good too.

This place would be great if it weren’t in Fulham. And by that I mean it serves good coffee and excellent cakes. It has friendly staff. Its seating is conducive to coffee-shop loitering. It plays nice music. It’s everything you’d want in a coffee shop — comfortable and not too hip. But it’s frequented by 30-something mothers quaffing their mochas whilst generally disregarding their crying babies in their oversized prams, which they did in fact run over your foot on their way past you to get to the counter without apologising, thankyouverymuch. So, in summary, a good option if you’re in Fulham. But certainly not worth travelling for. Unless you like crying babies in prams.

I’ll agree with the other reviews from fellow tellers that this place is cute and homely but I have to add that I don’t think it is anything special. The food is nicely varied, obviously made fresh, and healthy too — bonus points. And such a super cute garden out back as well as a few tables out front to watch street television. Boo hiss points were that my teapot was only half full, and that the lady at the counter was a bit brash. Have to add that I really did love the ‘All I really need to know I learnt in kindergarten’ poster. Pure insightfulness!

Oncoming«Dad Joke»… Local Here is my local hero of a coffee shop!!! Yes, it’s true. i love this place. The staff are friendly, there are always tables free and the food is quite good. I’d give it 5 stars if they had free wifi but I suppose that would provide me with less table space. The flat whites here are my favorite.

This place is very good. Great coffee, good food and a nice little café too. I regularly pop down for a cappuccino and/or a croissant and a read of the newspaper. The savoury food is also very tasty. If you are in Fulham then drop in for some food and a coffee. It is well worth it.

I love Local Hero. The coffee is first rate, the staff are friendly, and it just feels homely and comfortable here. The toasties at lunch are also divine! It attracts the usual Fulham crowd, and on weekdays, it’s often full of young mums with prams. It’s usually very full, but finding a table isn’t too much of a problem, and on sunny days, the garden out back is a great place to enjoy the nice weather. Just a great, local café.

I was told ages ago that Local Hero serves the best coffee in London, I have to admit, I’m inclined to agree! Local Hero is a proper neighbourhood coffee shop. You can tell that people are serious regulars because not only do they have a loyalty card but the staff knows what they regularly drink. It was 10 in the morning on a Friday and the café was already crowded. Most of the seats were taken, but I was able to find a place to sit and enjoy my morning coffee. I ordered an Americano with milk; they get extra points for giving me warm milk. The service was excellent and I was happy to simply sit and sip my coffee, which was delicious.

Local Hero — what a genius name. I like to support the local shops, it gives Fulham a less urbanised feeling. Especially when you can get take away coffees from local places, which do not belong to a chain such as Starbuck or Café Nero! Local Hero therefore is spot on with their name and deserves to be supported. I often find myself with a newspaper on a Sunday morning reading and sipping my coffee on one of their wooden tables. They also have excellent pastries and the place is very charming decorated. No where else would you get this style of interior then in London — Local Hero is therefore a good show-off piece if you have friends visiting. In summer it is particular nice, as you can even sit outside — people watching. You have to order at the counter and the waiters will bring your warm drinks to the table. During the week — what better then start the day with a local hero take away latte!
