The French Barrel

I am a little confused and disappointed about this place. It is very nice and they have have obviously spent s fair bit in transforming what was an Indian restaurant into a really. Ice space with lots of bare brick and timber. There are comfy seats as well as tables and chairs so they obviously want you just to come on for a glass of wine or three and not just to eat.
It was the wine list that confused me as fit a French wine bar most of the wine on offer wasn’t French.
We had dinner and the food was ok but not brilliant. I had boeuf bourguignon which was a bit bland and watery served on s small dish with a side of very odd dauphinoise

Nice wine bar/​restaurant that just oppened accross the street! Good wine and cheese :)
