Liquorish did not live up to it’s potential. When we arrived, the dining room was full but we were seated promptly. Our server brought wine and water quickly and took our order quickly as well. Things went down hill from there. Our starter took over a half hour to arrive. We ordered the meatball and chorizzo in tomato sauce. It was really good but no bread was sent or offered to sop up the sauce. The main course came a while later. We ordered the«Americano Pizza» and a burger. Both were good as well. What let me down about Liquorish was the service. We arrived about 8:00pm and the place was already being transformed from a restaurant to a night club. Our servers were busy helping the DJ set up his turntables and amps. I hope he tips well. When our food was delivered it was simply put on our table and the server left. We were not checked on until our meal was over. I don’t even think that we were offered dessert. To be fair, we were comped a couple of classes of wine and our bill was discounted by a sincerely apologetic server. I have mentioned in previous posts that I don’t accept comps but I felt it was merited in this case. My displeasure with liquorish lays with the management. They were under staffed and used their serving staff as roadies. A lot of money was being spent by customers buying drinks at the bar. The management could have ponied up and put one more server and busboy on the floor. And maybe they could make the DJ hump his own equipment. All of my negativity aside, the food was good and hot. .Liquorish has potential. Because of what I feel was sincere embarrassment by the floor staff for an unusual occurrence, I am willing to give it another chance. Your food was worth it.

Eaten here 3 or 4 times now, and each time has been a very pleasurable experience. Liquorish have a range of different foods including a fantastic pizza menu with creations you wont find elsewhere, check their website for the full menu. I normally go for the«pigsy» pizza which has pulled pork, bacon, mozarella, leeks, and apple as toppings, it’s fantastic! The pizzas are thin based and much much nicer than those you get in Pizza express. They often have a 2for1 deal on the pizzas on certain days(give them a call to check) which makes it great value to eat here. The staff have always been super friendly here, and service with a smile is something they do very well! The place itself is quite modern looking with nice lighting and décor. Never been here on a particularly busy day so I can’t really say what it’s like when it gets busy. They have a cracking cocktail list, oh and the coffee is not bad either!

We stumbled across Liquorish on Sunday and decided to go in for a coffee and ended up staying there all afternoon. I had the roast beef which was cooked exactly the way I like it, my friend had the eggs benedict, both washed down with a couple of bloody Mary’s. Staff are extremely friendly, good service and the right choice of music for a lazy Sunday. We have just moved to the area and we will definitely be going back very soon.

Don’t have the roast beef sandwich, it’s a microscopically thin slice of greying supermarket meat between two slices of white bread which they’ll charge you north of five quid for. Add expensive drinks, indifferent staff and a distinct lack of atmosphere and it’s not a place we’ll be rushing back to.

Lordship Lane is renowned for its multitude of chic bourgeoisie bars, however Liquorice is a cut above the rest. Their cocktails are second to none, and expertly mixed by a team of highly trained and friendly staff. The concrete clad post-industrial decoration makes this bar very unique and a fantastic place to have a casual drink or a long afternoon session with friends.

Went there on a Saturday night just for a quick drink and had a great night! We LOVED the crowd, relaxed, without pretense, excellent music and we all had a brilliant boogie to the tunes, with real friendly folk all having a great night out! Friendly staff and a great night! Will definitely be back!

Strange bar, I’m not sure what it’s trying to be. It doesn’t seem to fit in with anything. Friendly staff and good DJs sometimes but I’m not sure if its location or atmosphere that’s off putting. It always seems empty when I have been in.

A couple of friends and I ventured into Dulwich for Sunday brunch, trusting that this little village corner of south east London would have a suitable venue, and Liquorish appeared to fit the bill — lots of Sunday papers on the counter, comfortable sofas to sit on and a good breakfast menu. And in terms of coffee, a good place to sit, and chilled ambience — Liquorish fits the bill. The problem is the food, which arrived carelessly arranged and looked distinctly unappealing — kind of shriveled and greasy. The taste wasn’t much better with the spinach swimming in so much butter, it was almost inedible, and the rest tasting overcooked. I definitely wouldn’t east here again, but would perhaps return for a drink, or perhaps in the evening when it becomes more of a bar.

While there are countless bars to drink in in Dulwich, Liquorish stands alone in being edgy, modern and cool. Along with classic cocktails their menu contains more original interpretations and new creations to try out. However, I always seem to find the bar at one of two extremes. During the week it can be so quiet that one almost feels awkward for being there, while at weekends I barely make it through the door. I cannot say that I am blown away by the cocktail making at Liquorish, but the atmosphere, the simplicity and of course the large free hanging light bulbs still tempt me in without exception.

This is a strange bar, where people try and dance in the tiny back area as if it were a club! They have a good selection of drinks, and it is nicely decorated with stylish hanging lightbuls in the centre of each area and over the bar. I have not tried the food here, but when ordering some nuts at the bar we received some sugared(?!), not salted, and slightl stale nuts. A bit odd. An ok place but a bit too pretentious for what it is, and far too small for the numbers that try to cram in on a Friday night.

I’ve done Liquorish in the daytime and the night time — the former was surprisingly more successful. A non-alc cocktail went down a treat with the Sunday papers and the live music was a wonderful complement to lazing at the sunshine drenched weekend. Staff were speedy and efficient — the place seems to be run or managed by the incredible Monica, formerly of Bar Story fame, who has to be the best cocktail-maker and general all-round bar guru that I have ever encountered. Next time I visited was a Saturday night, and frankly we had terrible luck in that everyone in Dulwich decided to turn 30 and go and have a party in Liquorish that very night. Great expanses of seating area were reserved, while said newly thirty-or-somethings cavorted around the bar or smoked outside. Grr. We ended up stood near the door and shivered. One drink and we moved on. Having said that, Liquorish does have a great chilled vibe and cool décor, they get in some decent DJs and fun live music, and the cocktails are pretty good, so I’ll probably give it another go. Just make sure you’re either invited to the thirtieth, or holding it.
