Al Parco

Al Parco is my regular takeaway place, mostly for pizza and they have never disappointed me a single time. The pizzas are always with crispy crust with fresh and quality ingredients, which in my opinion are the two most important things for a delicious pizza. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and the delivery time is pleasing, having in mind how the traffic in London is. Definitely recommended.

This is the local italian for everybody as my work, wont be able to go here without finding at least two or three colleagues! But theres a reason for that: great, reasonably priced and generous italian food! As simple as that.
Nothing extraordinary but tasty food… Exactly what you’d expecr from this kind of little family italian restaurant.
The pizzas have a good thin base and the pasta is cooked al dente.
Recommend if youre looking of simple good italian food.

Fresh, superb ingredients.
And that alone can make the flavor of the food outstanding. I did feel like our waitress was a little inattentive — looking at the other staff, I do feel like she was the only one. The attention to the flavors is remarkable.
I would definitely recommend this place.

If you’re near Camden and looking to get away from the crowds and have a coffee break, this may be the spot for you. The coffee was good and the service adequate. The pizza (at the next table over) looked good and I may have to try that next time. If the weather is warm and/​or sunny, they have some nice outdoor tables on the sidewalk/​pavement, which give you the perfect vantage point for people watching.

We had a solid lunch with street food at King’s Cross, then walked along Regent’s Canal and when we arrived in Camden, we needed some strong and high quality coffee. Al Parco drew our attention with its striped shades and small round tables outside, it looked Italian and promising. And we were not mistaken — the Illy each of us ordered was good and strong and my Americano was a real one.
The desserts were fresh and light, the house made Tiramisu I ordered tasted great.

If you’re looking to indulge in carb rich goodness keep searching. Got three pizzas here last night for the family and was not impressed.
If the restaurant reads Unilocal (and they should), I implore your to rework your dough. I think your friends and family are being to nice, or don’t want to hurt your feelings, because the truth is your dough is kinda terrible. And if your dough isn’t good, your pizza is never going to be good.
To the pizzaiolos working the oven here, you should all hang your head in shame. Go on leave right now and take a long food walk to visit the best pizza places of Italy, America or even Japan (that’s right, Japan people) and learn your craft. (Or you could just use the internet to improve your recipe– that will work too– and be a lot cheaper potentially.)
Either way, you need to improve your recipe, because this is amateur cooking.

Premier English breakfast dans un bar pizzeria classic italien et bien pas dessus du tout, super cadre, service nickel et c’est très typé. Une assiette a 5 pounds et tu repars le ventre plein pour une journée de shopping et promenade :-) Je recommande grandement donc.

That’s how I felt about this place.
I suppose going out for a date in Camden Town guarantees that it’ll be a bit tacky and a bit touristy though, right? It’s my own fault, really.
…and food wise? My goats cheese pizza had no goats cheese, the rocket tasted as though it was off and I spent the entire meal dreaming of Pizza East.
I guess the icing on the cake was the table of American tourists talking about swingers parties in London vs LA. Awkward.

My friend and I went here the other night after drinks in Spread Eagle and before going onto a gig at The Wheelbarrow so knew we needed sustenance! We liked the look of Al Parco as it was an independent in an area surrounded by chain restaurants.
We were greeted by friendly staff on arrival and given enough time to make our choices. I liked the décor of the place especially the photo by our table of the Prime Minister and Mary Portas (legend!) with the chefs!
We were both very pleased with our pizzas and it took us a while to choose and so many sounded delicious! Mine was goat’s cheese, rocket and parma ham and it was really nice and tasty. We also shared a bottle of red wine and this all came to less than expected (not sure how the addition of the bill worked out!)
I would definitely return and recommend.

This is a terrific family run pizzeria (attached to Goodfare) that dishes up good food with a smile. The staff are always very friendly and they dote on children so it’s a very good family choice. The only downside is that (at the time of writing at least) they don’t do childrens portions.

Al Parco is a cozy little pizzeria next door to Goodfare. It’s easy to walk by and completely miss it, I did for a long time. In fact the only reason I ended up eating there was because Masala Zone (yeah, I know, but it’s easy and cheap) was closed for the lunch to dinner transition.
I was sitting on the corner contemplating my nearby options as I was starving and didn’t want to walk far, nor to pay too much. Goodfare had decent prices on their decent pastas (as I’ve noted in the past), but I wasn’t in the mood. Ok, let’s check out this pizza joint.
Looking at their menus, the prices for a 12″ pizza start at 5.50 for a margherita and hit the high 8’s for a specialty pizza. Not too bad, pizza by the slice on display looked like a good thin crust, crispy on the skirts. Let’s give it a go.
For some reason over the last couple years I’ve developed a weak spot in my heart for pizza with arugula on it (rocket). Dunno why, nor if it will as suddenly and inexplicably depart. Anyways, I decided to go with the Pizza Italia, which is one of their specialties. Marinated mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, mozzarela, parma ham, rocket and parmesan shavings. For whatever reason they also ended up throwing on some de-​seeded whole kalamata as well. Hey, I’ve got no problem with that.
The thin crust was indeed crisp on the outskirt and had some chew to the middle. I enjoyed it. The ingredients on the pizza were also fresh (in the case of the veg) and high quality (in the case of the parma ham/​cheese). I think if the sauce was better this could have easily become a 4-​star review. Alas, the sauce was lacking in the flavour department. By quite a bit I might add.
As I said in the beginning the place is a cozy pizzeria. It’s narrow, but goes back far enough to host probably on the order of 30 diners. Some of the wall is exposed brick, and they have photographs of famous actors, musicians and artist from the past on the walls. Though I’m not sure who the largest photo is a picture of, and it is interestingly a photo of a half naked woman leaning over what looked to be a mirror covered in lines of cocaine. It happened to be directly opposite where I was seated, and as I said was the largest photo there. I couldn’t quite figure out exactly how it fit in with the rest of the photographs, unless this was just a famous photo I’d never seen. All the others I looked at were famous photos that I’d seen before, this one was breasts and drugs. hmm. surreal.
