History

Established in 2013.

For the whole time he was studying from his teens to early adulthood. Neil also taught music to friends and fellow students, and after leaving University with all the hopes of becoming a Musician or Composer. He thought this would be the more sensible option to help pay the way for his Music.

Upon taking teaching as a profession, Neil took all the right exam precautions in Guitar, Singing, Bass and Theory. Being more than qualified, Neil uses tried and tested methods to help his students become the Musicians they want to be. After starting from the very bottom with just one student, word got out about Neil’s work. His student list grew from just one all the way to forty students a week and in such a short space of time. This astounding success led Neil to audition for the best School in the NorthWest, Presto Music. He impressed over all other candidates, and got the job. He still teachers at Presto today.

In his early life, Neil was exposed to what he calls his first love of heavy driven Guitar Music. Bands such as Guns n’ Roses, Oasis, and Bön Jovi whose influence inspired Neil to first pick up the Guitar at the age of 14. It also paved the way for his Singing, which is clear in his Voice today. From there he quickly got into the Progressive and Shred Guitar genre with bands and players such as Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.

It was also around this time he began Guitar lessons with a Mr. ‘Dave Bridge’ (a well known Classical Guitarist and tutor). With Dave he studied the Electric Guitar and took exams through the RockSchool syllabus. He also studied Classical Guitar, and with Classical Guitar, came the Music. Learning the pieces of Bach, Mozart, Scarlatti, Tarrega, Debussy, Fernando Sor, and Beethoven inspired Neil to listen and work out from all types of Instruments and Scores… Learn more at neilpot​tersmu​sic​.com
