History
Established in 1973.
The Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel began its life on the 11th June 1973, when it opened with 725 bedrooms. British Airport Authorities leased the property to Lex Hotels who operated the hotel under the name ‘The Heathrow Hotel’.
In December 1980 it became the ‘Heathrow Penta Hotel’ when the Penta Group bought the lease off Lex. (Penta means five and was used by the group made up of five international airlines; BEA & BOAC — who became BA, Alitalia, Swissair and Lufthansa. Lufthansa over the next 13 years brought the shares of the other members to become the main shareholder/owner.
In January 1993 Ramada International took over the Management contract of the Heathrow Penta Hotel, and it then became the ‘Ramada Hotel Heathrow’.
On the 1st April 1997, Marriott Intl bought the management contract from New World properties. On the 1st June 1998 the name was changed to Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel.
On 10th October 2012 the Arora Group acquire the hotel from Hotel Property Investor
