The Place

First time, went with my wife. We were seated fast. Our host (Yoly) was a great joy, she helped us choose where we wanted to seat. Our waitress (Kelly), with a perfect Spanish (even she’s not from PR), not only took perfectly our order, she explained us every option from the menu and guide us in the most charming way.
The food, oh, the food… WONDERFUL! We tried the (hormone-​free) wings, and they were great. I had the Prosciutto Burger… it was pure prosciutto! Delicious! I asked for Sweet Potato Fries… didn’t need ketchup, great taste, not an oily one as other places.
It’s quality, all homemade food… but you will be surprised to know it has nothing of expensive… in fact, when the tab arrived, we were surprised, considering all the things we ordered.
Great environment, wasn’t too crowded, never felt too much hot, in fact, it was a refreshing area. And we choose to seat on the patio. Bathrooms were impeccable.
Next time, we will come back with a group, will try the Churrasco Burger and the local craft beer (mango one, here I come).

Ehh, wouldn’t recommend this place at all. We will drawn in by the happy hour specials. The drinks were s horrible we didn’t even bother ordering food. The worst mojito I’ve ever had. Not worth the visit or money.

For the price the quantity and quality of the food was bad. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please avoid.

We really enjoyed The Place! Casual, great burgers and delicious empanadas! Not too pricey. After eating at fancy restaurants all week, we were very happy to come to a more reasonably priced restaurant! It was clean, nice. Nothing fancy. Service was excellent!!! I would definitely recommend. They have small pizzas as well!

We tried this place for dinner our first night here. The food was great other than the wings! On the other hand our waitress seemed pre-​occupied. She was hard to track down if we needed anything. The atmosphere is great however the noise level was high. If you decide to give this place a try I would recommend the burgers & pizza!

This review is only for happy hour. My friend & I both ordered a few margaritas. They were strong & very good! Our waiter was attentive & friendly. We also snacked on the sweet potato fries. The serving was small, but they were really good. The menu didnt really have the best food options, but I’d definitely come back for drinks.

Amazing. We ate here THREE TIMES. Three times in one week. Incredible eats, atmosphere & value!
Food — The burgers and pizza are as good as advertised — the ground beef is tender, fresh and perfectly seasoned. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The pizza is fresh thin-​crust from a stone oven, and the menu includes classics (pepperoni, ham, veggie, etc) and more exotic flavors, depending on your palette.
Drinks — daily specials, and an incredible beer selection, featuring bottles from around the world .
I’m giving The Place 4 stars because we thought the wings left a lot to be desired. No ones perfect though, right?!
You definitely need to eat here if you are in the Condado area we will be back!

The Place is a fun place not far from the beach. We stopped in after lounging in the sunshine for a drink and a snack. It was one of the largest restaurants I was in during my Puerto Rican vacay. Everything is very open, and they have outdoor seating as well.
We all ordered different beverages — I went with the piña colada. They have several slushy machines with various frozen drinks like pina coladas and daiquiris. We also ordered yucca fries and plantain fries. The fries were AWESOME and that crazy ketchup-​mayo sauce was incredible — it was the best here out of all the places we ate at. Prices were inexpensive to fair.
Service was slow… it was not busy, but when you are here you are on «island time.» Sit back, relax, enjoy the atmosphere!!!
You have to check out the bathroom doors here — just like the crazy little sign. I loved it!

For a relatively new place, the service is really, really poor. I have gone 4 times over the last couple months and the service is consistently subpar, starting with a bad attitude from the seating staff. And every trip, after finally being seated we waited, and waited, and waited for service. There is plenty of staff, so obviously management needs a fresh face, because the physical plant is really cool. Keep your fingers crossed that ownership hears the message and fixes a significant management issue.

Great beer selection, very diverse and global. Close to the beach, on the main drag. Came in for early dinner, it was pretty slow. Staff was not chatty at all. Great breeze from the open floor plan and the fans, welcome break from the humidity.
If you want a burger you can customize everything about it. I got the wings, simple and good. The side blue cheese was like crumbles and not a dippable dressing.
There was a friend or regular eating at the bar, the two bartenders working finished her fries when she was finished.
Could be fun with a group. Limited good selection

A good place for a burger and beer. A bit loud for my taste. Individual pizzas are decent but every thing is a bit over priced.

This was the best food we had here in San Juan! Of course its traditional American food, burgers wings and fries yet this was just what we were craving our last day in PR. I ordered the chicken pesto ciabatta sandwich with onion rings. I was only given 3 onion rings but they were delish! My boyfriend had the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burger with American cheese and fries and he loved it! Piña colada was perfect and everything was reasonably priced. We wish we found this place sooner!

Horrible!!! Got seated and NEVER saw a server! A 7 top table that was seated after my friend and I, had their order taken and served before us. Walked out and went somewhere else and was served immediately! Mind your costumers.

Came here with two friends to watch the AFC Championship. We arrived early so there was plenty of space outside at the picnic tables, but the manager asked us to squeeze in at a table with another group of people to make room for potential late comers. After an hour there was still a full table and a half empty, so we moved where we had a little more space to eat. The manager came over and told us to move back to the other table with the group of strangers and we ended up leaving at halftime.
The waitress was wonderful and the food was pretty good, but we were really turned off by the manager.

My large group received terrific customer service on the two occasions that we visited here. I liked that there was a lot of room, unlike a lot of other places. Also, food/​drinks were much cheaper and tastier than hotel bars and restaurants.
I loved the vegan options (vegan fish!) and the open air seating.

I have been here 3 times. Food sub par (being nice) service lacking, how hard it it to get a beer? 20 min later? Not impressed. Needs change!

Great hamburger menú for that day when you tire of too much pork!!! On a Monday half empty we got our drink service right away– the Painkiller sangria with coconut was a hit! Ordered the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ Angus –bacon burger… All good!!! Very happy here! Kids welcome… Beer garden outside… Reasonable prices. Will return.

Negatives:
— We asked for tap water, which is pretty normal to ask for in Puerto Rico. Our waiter attempted to give us a bottled water. We refused and, again, asked for tap water. Our waiter informed us that the water from tap was «bad.» We shrugged and still refused the bottled water. 5 minutes later (while someone else from our party got up and refilled our canteens from elsewhere), our waiter arrives with water cups… Okay, if he just told us that the water from tap was «bad,» then how could he then deliver water cups? We drank it out of thirst and we obviously didn’t die because the water didn’t even taste bad. There was nothing wrong with the tap water; we think the waiter just wanted us to pay for bottled water. Well, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!
— I couldn’t decide on what to order and nothing on the menu was speaking to me. In the end, I chose onion rings ($ 2.95). Despite the onion rings being cooked the way I liked them, guess how many rings I received? I got a meager FOUR, I’ll repeat that, FOUR onion rings. Really? REALLY?! Four onion rings for $ 2.95?! That comes out to, like, $ 0.74 per onion ring. I would have never paid that much for onion rings if I had known I would only get FOUR onion rings.
— The burgers were EXTREMELY WELL DONE. Hello! We prefer our burgers cooked medium rare. This request was ignored.
— We asked for aioli sauce. We were given mayonnaise with a pinch of garlic powder. Yum… NOT.
— To top it all off, when we received our bill… our waiter STILL charged us for bottled water. FINAL WOW. At this point, I wasn’t going to wait around for him, so I brought up the check to the cashier and got it taken care of.
Moral of the review: Don’t go to any more tourist traps on Ashford Avenue. You’ll be disappointed.

Not sure why the poor reviews! It was nice to get a pizza– even though they messed up the order. Great beer list, lots of tv’s, loud but a perfect place to watch a game. They had ceiling fans that sprayed mist on one side of the dining room. Large space. Probably the best place to watch a game if you staying within the area.

I went back to The Place to give them another chance and I can hardly believe that the service was even worse. They were fairly busy but not every table was taken. I waited in the front of the line for about twenty minutes as the line grew and we watched empty tables and employees walking around basically doing nothing. When we finally got a table, it took another ten minutes before anyone came to our table to take our order and that was after we asked multiple people. It’s unbelievable and too bad because the burgers were okay, not great, but there aren’t too many choices for good burgers to begin with in Puerto Rico.
