We stayed in the area and for breakfast I found Café del Loto after a quick Unilocal search. I’m so glad we came here. It’s a small, cozy and clean coffee shop that exudes hipster, artwork all around by local artist Sergio Dávila Parada(strongly influenced by Picasso), and charm. There are mismatched tables for seating and it is a colorful place with purple and grays. We ordered three(I needed 2) Americanos(wasn’t on the menu but they made it for us) and the Sandwich del Loto– ciabatta/mozzarella/tomato/pesto. The coffees on the menu here are espresso, latte, cappuccino, mocha, and chocolate caliente. The price is right too! For our 3 coffees and sandwich = $ 13. Also– We seemed to be the only ‘foreigners’ in the café. Everyone else(pretty packed but no long waiting) were locals enjoying their Sunday brunch. I also asked for some milk on the side for my Americano. They served us frothed skim milk and after stirring, latte! Mmm… Delicious.

Cute little place with fun and eclectic décor. The ONLY good coffee I’ve had in PR was here. I can’t explain it, but it’s true. Family friendly and family owned. Great waffles with fruit and honey. A place to support for sure.

This place has great coffee and the food is amazing. The service is also fast for the island and the prices cannot be beat. The people working there are very nice and show great customer service, with a friendly neighborhood vibe.

We went there this morning and I had the best waffle ever with strawberries, nutella sauce, whipped cream and a hint of cinnamon. My boyfriend, not to hungry in the morning had a simple croissant with mozza cheese but really enjoyed it but he especially enjoyed the double espresso. Great family place!

Small coffee shop. Weird painting that I enjoyed I had the panini which was amazing. I only wish I could remember the name. I do remember it had pesto sauce. And there was a tiny side salad that came along with it. Very refreshing for a hot day that it was. I enjoy the light, sweet dressing on it. The coffee was just to my liking. I feel like the coffee that I have had so far in PR have been on the sweeter side, but this was just right. I did add shots of espresso to it because I enjoy it a bit stronger, but my friend enjoyed his just as is and agreed with me about the taste. The price was pretty standard as far as coffee shops go or at least that I am used to. Music that was playing was on point for me so I would definitely come back to sip and listen again. The server was friendly and was took his time with me, did not rush me at all. I was in the mood that I just didn’t know what I want and everything looked so good! I wish my schedule would allow me to come here more often since it is kind of limited on their hours of operation. I would totally recommend it to a friend!

Wonderful café! This is around the corner from where we’re staying, and I’m glad it is! We just had pastries this morning, but they were yummy! We also had iced coffee /iced latte, they came in a glass milk jar with the straw decorated with a spiraled wrapper — and were perfect, light, and smooth.

I can see why this place has been open 3 years with so few reviews. The décor is peaceful and inviting but it stops there. When we walked in the woman behind the counter was putting makeup on. After she took our order and money which was 2 coffees and 1 waffle, she proceeded to sell makeup to a nearby table while we waited for coffee. And waited. And waited. Prob.15 minutes. I’m all for island time but this was an example of poor customer service. This feels like inexperienced people trying to run a business and this system won’t be working for too much longer. You can’t sell something else on the side and ignore your priority. I won’t come back. Too many other places that offer customer service nearby.

The Café del Loto is a bit out if the way if you are staying by the beach in the tourist area — No matter, you must go. This is a local coffee shop… It’s a joint, a coffee joint by the locals for the locals. This said, the staff was warm and welcoming. The little coffee del Loto is amazing, particularly if you have a bit of a sweet tooth. It’s like melted premium coffee ice cream — but much, much better. I dare say the most pleasant and efficient way to get caffeinated. We also had a couple of iced lattes(because one coffee rarely does the trick). The lattes were fine — I thoroughly enjoyed my iced latte after the walk over from the Marriott. It’s about a 15 – 20 min walk — but don’t let this deter you from a great local coffee shop experience. We also had the waffle — wowza! It came with bananas and strawberries, drizzled with chocolate sauce and caramel and a dollop of whipped cream. It was a Belgium style waffle — great crunch with a nice chew to it. Best waffle I’ve ever had(full disclosure — I’ve never been to Belgium). Companion declared said waffle«tasty» then tried to hog the entire thing — pulled the plate right out from under me. Please don’t miss this place if you are in the area, particularly if you are a coffee shop person. There is free wifi. A little couch and assorted mismatched seating, and local art on the walls — this place is perfect. We were here in late December — there was a decorated tree in the corner. The owners were onsite. Shop, drink, and eat locally!

These people are great! On Sunday, ask. about the Sunday brunch… I didn’t see any reference to it on the menu. Very flavorful and fresh, all the way to the freshly squeezed juice. Very understated place, but well worth seeking it out.

We found this quaint little café because it was down the block from Tresbe, where we had lunch – al fresco. It was a warm day, so we stopped in for a quick cup of coffee and to get out of the heat for a few minutes. This is not a Starbucks wannabe, but has more of a no-frills mom ‘n pop vibe. There were some photos by local artists on the walls, but overall the café was sparsely decorated. The baristas were both friendly, even though my husband and I do not speak Spanish and couldn’t remember how to ask for sugar. The Indian music playing was relaxing, if not a bit confusing. But, most importantly, the lattes were crafted with love. Great coffee and nice crema on the espresso!

Very nice café. Cozy ambiance. Awesome coffee. Went there quite a few times in the morning throughout our stay and enjoyed every visit. Boliver was a great host. A very cheerful personality, he suggested a few places to visit in Old San Juan Town. I was also very impressed with his idea of promoting the local artists by displaying and selling their paintings in his café. Would definitely love to go there again.

A little quaint coffee shop. Delicious coffee! I tried the café lotto and it whip cream, froth, and cinnamon came to perfect harmony. The egg, ham, and cheese on ciabatta bread was excellent as well. The bread was fresh and toasted. It was a great blend of textures from the melted cheese to crunch of the bread. I would definitely recommend this place. 4 stars because there is no parking.

The Café del Loto coffee with whipped cream and cinnamon is outrageous and goes great with their honey and cinnamon covered toast points. All fresh made and baked. The staff is super kind, too — make the effort to find it!

A cute café on the way to Ocean Park Beach. Great food with daily specials. The bakery is all locally baked, and the sandwiches are home made. Awesome coffee! Also showcases wonderful local photography from local artists. Stop in before or after the beach to refresh before enjoying the rest of your stay in nearby Condado.
