This is a review for the bar and drinks. My wife were looking to kill a few hours before we could check into our hotel so we strolled into el Patio. We had a couple of drinks which were very tasty and strong(mojito’s, pina coladas and margaritas) Bartender was very good as well.

I love coming to Puerto Rico, and having a great time at Old Sam Juan, but the bar tender at this place just made it all go away! His attention to the people at the bar is ZERO, we never got what we asked for and never got at least the service that we deserved not even one percent, just BC we are not from here it doesn’t mean we can’t get the service we deserve, I still left him a tip as I know it’s done in the US and as a server my self I know I rely on my tip…

Stopped in here on our most recent visit to Old San Juan — we drove in from Dorado Beach and took the ferry over. I think this place is perfectly fine if you’re looking for bar food and to get out of the heat for a little while but nothing on the menu is great. We had 6 adults and my 1 ½ year old daughter and they sat us at a table that fit four and then looked generally confused when we said we couldn’t fit our group. They then put four adults at the one table and then 2 adults and the child at a small table that should only be for two. It wasn’t even crowded and combining tables was not an option for them. It’s just typical, uninspired bar food and with tons of other great options in town, this place should be skipped.

Un espanto, toda la comida que nos comimos esta hervida, sin sabor, y muy caro. El servicio de primera, párese que el chef se fue de vacaciones y pusieron al que limpia en la cocina. Qué pena.

This is a great street with many bars and great place to hang out. We went to El Patio to watch the Cubs game on a Friday night. Our bartender was friendly and gave us complimentary shots. People came in to dine here. Large restaurant, and a great bar spot.

Found this place wandering around on a rainy sunday. We were really hungry and wanted to try some Puerto Rican cuisine so this fit the bill. I ordered the chicken trifungo with beans and rice and the tomato sauce. The presentation was very nice, it came in a ring of trifungo, which is basically 3 different kinds of plantains mashed and fried into a really large shaped ring. Inside that was the chicken with the tomato sauce. On the side was a healthy serving of rice and beans. That was my favorite part. The service here was great. Very friendly and super helpful.

I order 2 Medallas and the chicken mofungo, which came to about $ 25 which is very expensive considering the food was only ok. I had much better mofungo later on in my trip, and Medallas should not be $ 5 a piece. This was my first meal in OSJ, so I was still figuring out price/quality of the area, but this is a tourist trap.

Had an amazing authentic Puerto Rican experience. We ate the mofongo with pork. It came with rice and beans. Pork was cooked great and came in cubes. The dang beans were insane! They had a little sweet potato cube in it and it made a difference in the taste. Sooooo good. We sat at the bar. The bartender Jose was attentive and polite! I had my usual Double Titos on the rocks and my wife had a coconut Mojito, which was delicious. When we closed out, he gave us a shot on the house. I’m sure it was a random free bottle they get, but he mixed it with some delicious stuff and we loved it!!! I highly recommend this restaurant. Better than el jibarito if u want mofongo and the atmosphere was more authentic Puerto Rican, which we really wanted. We are going to catch the sunset at Castillo el Morro and then come back for some more food!!! That’s how good it was.

Sub-par everything; completely underwhelming. I had two drinks and the chips & salsa. I’m pretty sure they use Pace Picante salsa and the chips lacked salt. …The food was just lame. Maybe I should have had something else??? The drinks are ok. The bartender was extremely nice! He is worthy the 2 stars!!!

Not to happy with this place any longer. I came here a few months ago while on a cruise bar hopping with some family members and when I noticed that on he menu they had a rare fish called«trifongo» I jumped on it and I had to give it 2 thumbs up. Especially that not so restaurants offered it on the island — so to my excitement, I’m in Puerto Rico again… And was looking so forward to the same thing I had remembered!!! So, to my disappointment — I must say it was not the same. It was not even close as the taste was so far off. It was soggy, barely any if any tostones inside — missing the garlic and a few other ingredients. I ate the dish only because I was hungry — but was I extremely disappointed. The only thing that we did like was the beans and the cheese balls… But that’s not I came here for — I guess I’m just going to have to go to the main place that introduced me to this amazing dish that I rave about…

It’s about to go down. Came here last year it was amazing, was so excited to park the car to come back. Food, staff and beverages was just off the map. No waiting for a table, food comes fresh and in an abundance so bring your appetite. Good eats.

We got drinks here as we barhopped on Calle San Sebastian. It was packed full — mostly locals. We did some shots and grabbed a pool table. As far as pool goes, it’s bar pool. House cues, small perimeter, no chalk. Also, locals wanted the table and hung around watching us. It wasn’t cool, and we left after a game. I would come back here for the room — it’s upstairs with lots of balconies, and it’s got a great party ambiance.

Good solid food. I got a blue cheese burger; the burgers are apparently some of the best of the Caribbean thanks to Travel & Leisure’s 2012 awards. Lots of American favorites here– BLT, burgers, chicken fingers– and some PR delights as well. Was more enthused about the burger than my hearts of palm salad, which was uninspired(think hearts of palm on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes). We sat at the bar, which was way cooler than the atrium in the back of the restaurant. The bartender was personable.

Prepackaged vegetables, strawberry mojito too syrupy, chips and salsa a la tostitos from the walmart style, overall worse that what I could whip up at home in 5 minutes. Medalla beer was the only good thing about my dinner there. I had the grilled salmon with the guava sauce and a side of mofongo.

I found this spot on accident. It was raining and ducked inside to dry off for a bit. I sat at the bar and customer service was great. I ordered the salmon monfongo and didn’t enjoy it as much as the reviews suggested. The salmon was really good, but the monfongo was very dry and bland. I also tried the tres leches for desert and it was disgusting. If it wasn’t for the awesome customer service and strong drinks I would have only given them 1 star.

The mofongo con carne was amazing. Very good sorullitos and fried calamari for appetizer. My son had the hamburger for which apparently they are very well know. It was a very tasty burger. Servers were very nice, they took their time to explain some if the dishes and came back several times to ask if everything was ok. Give it a try if you’re around.

We came for the piña coladas… 2 for 1 until 7pm weekdays … and decided to try a burger($ 10.95) with cheese and fries because the server told us «our burgers are the best in ALLOFTHEUS!» Our burger FINALLY arrived after 30 minutes and was slightly bigger than a White Castle(Whitey One-Bite). There was no sauce, the patty(advertised to be 8 oz) was less than 5 ounces, and it was accompanied by a pickle spear, very small slice of tomato, and a little lettuce. The fries were shoestrings and not many in number. We finished the sandwich literally in less than 3 minutes and I’m not a fast eater. Thankfully, the piña coladas($ 9) were large and tasty, not strong, good, but thank God it was happy hour because they were way overpriced! $ 33 for two drinks and an itty-bitty burger … Never again!
