Great ambiance and wonderful service to match the delicious food. An acoustic guitarist was playing softly as I entered the restaurant. The volume was just right and only added to the atmosphere. After starting with some fava beans in a tasty vinaigrette and some bread with olive oil, I had the creamed seafood soup. The soup base was tomato and was indescribably good. My mouth is watering just remembering. Next was grilled sole. The waiter filleted it at my table and presented it to me with an understated flourish. The fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection. I finished off the meal with a piece of lemon pie. The house red wine was also very good and from a Portuguese vineyard. I do not remember what is was as I did not order a full bottle. I will go back to Tacho Real when I return to Sintra.

Lovely atmosphere with a love guitar player and beautiful décor. The swordfish with passion fruit sauce was very good. The seafood soup was yummy as well. Great find in Sintra!

Great décor and atmosphere. Food was very good however the shrimp soup was not good. Try the steak options, both were great. The mushroom appetizer was also tasty. Best thing we had was the shrimp curry. Service was good not great which is why only four stars.

Completely catches you by surprise. Get past the outside and you will find an amazing menu. Try the seafood soup and the fillets with shrimp sauce. An extremely charming place that fits the elegance and history of the town.
