I LOVEDTHISPLACE ! This was easily one of the best meals we had in Portugal. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. We had the shrimps — they were hot in the pot bursting with flavor and dripping in olive oil as you bit into them. So tasty and delicious, I could have eaten 3 of those portions. Both of our entrees were un-believable and the wine pairings were spot on. It is pricey for European prices, but after living in Manhattan, everything seems cheap. The food, the ambiance, it was all sooooo good ! Highly recommend for an amazing meal !

Stopped in here before taking the train back to Lisbon and after spending the day running around Quinta da Regalaria. I enjoyed a few glasses of green wine, the Bacalhau confit, and some chocolate/orange cheesecake desert. Really happy I chose this place to eat, as the food was fantastic and the service was nice.

5 stars for food, service and charm. I had scallops(tender) on passion fruit risotto — wonderful compliments. My wife had duck confit with puréed eggplant. Amazing. We had espressos and 2 tarts for dessert. Our waitress was very helpful. It was a memorable meal.

This place is located close to the Sintra train station, and I’d say it’s among the best, if not the best restaurant in the city. The cuisine is still Portuguese, but compare to the many home style restaurants we’ve visited, the chef here pays more attention to presentation as well as using non traditional elements. The amuse bouche, for example, comes in a little sardine can. There is no sacrifice in flavor, however. We liked everything we tried. The octopus is definitely among the best we ever had, tender with a lovely charred aroma. Pork cheek is succulent in a rich sauce. When we looked at the wine list, we found it surprisingly small. But apparently there are lots of wine not listed on the menu, and our waiter recommended some to us which, as you’d expect from Portuguese wine, tasty at a good price(about € 3 a glass). Great service and outstanding food, at a surprisingly affordable price. Both entrees are only € 14.50. The vegetable soup I got only € 1.50! All in all, the two of us had each a glass of wine, soup and entrée, and a dessert to share, and everything came out to only € 53.50. I’d say the same caliber of restaurants in U.S. will be double the price, so if you are in Sintra do come here for a memorable evening of fine dining.

This place is absolutely fantastic. This was our favorite seafood restaurant in the lisbon area. As others have mentioned, this restaurant takes a high end approach but combines it with a very fair price. Now mind you, this place doesn’t just do seafood, but we figured, while in portugal we might as well eat as much seafood as possible. Mercury poisoning here I come! Everything we had was delicious. To start we had marinated sardines and shrimp in garlic sauce. These were both fantastic. Then we had a massive bowl of soup. Fantastic taste, fantastic value as well at just 2 euro! Then I had octopus and the wifey had cod. Once again these meals were expertly prepared and quite delicious. Total cost 60 euro with 5 glasses of wine included. Not the cheapest meal but wow it was fantastic. Would definitely go back again.

Outstanding quality in high end restaurant with a low end price approach. Best olive oil in miles’ reach, only matched by a peculiar finger salt infused with dried black olives. Cold melon soup with sparkling wine for starters was perfect for the outdoors temperature, followed by pan seared scallops topping a risotto of passion fruit and salt herbs. Chocolate cheese cake topped it off with brilliance. Top notch wine list with unusually high quality Portuguese wines makes this place a no-brainer for the average foodie and anyone else, really.

A sério.. milho e coco?! Quem diria!
