We came here based in a good review and close proximity to our lodging and we loved our meal. We were promptly seated in a cozy spot in the dining room filled with interesting décor of items from Norway and a few from the U.S. Our waiter spoke excellent English and helped us with the menu. I ordered the fish casserole the fish of the day. Very tasty and warm on a cold rainy evening. Husband ordered the house specialty, Hj I raspeballer, a lamb based dish with cauliflower, a potato dumplings. The meat was tender and delicious. We ended with Skokoladefondant, a wonderful chocolate cake that oozed warm chocolate filling, served with vanilla ice cream. We chatted with the owner, Anita, who was very friendly and happy we were fed well. I would recommend this restaurant for its wonderful traditional food, great service and décor

My favorite place for traditional Norwegian food in Bergen, hands down. This place is kind of off the beaten path and not in the sentrum… but once you find it, you’ll feel right at home. Damsgårds Stuene can best be defined as ‘koselig’ in Norwegian. I have been here on multiple occasions and even for parties and have had a wonderful experience every single time. The staff is funny and outgoing and welcoming. The food is just plain delicious(well as delicious as traditional Norwegian food can be). Little pricy of course, but worth all spent on it.
