The waitress was very nice and courteous, never hesitated to refil our water. I ordered a plate of mussels cooked in white wine– delicious. The mussles were the perfect size, not too small like many places. A portion good enough for one person. My vegetarian friend ordered her vegetarian lasagna– out of this world. Its actually the best one Ive ever had and wish i had ordered that instead. Another friend ordered seafood risotta which was just ok. There werent alot of seafood and the portion wasnt as big so she had to order fish soup which was just ok for me. It was too fishy for me but there were good chucks of seafood in there. Two other friends ordered seafood spaghetti and seafood penne pasta– I didnt taste much of those to rate them. But the vegetable Lasagna was the best. Every one was very impressed with their italian dish in Bergen.

Two stars only because the food itself was stellar. Everything else fell very short of my expectations. First, I informed them of a specific special circumstance when I made the reservation an entire four days before our visit, but somehow they failed to note it and set our table next to the kitchen entrance where the staff was shuffling back and forth, and steam was rising and food sizzling right over our heads. After they sat us virtually in the kitchen, they promptly forgot about us so that we had to flag down someone to get our service started. They gave us water and retreated into the woodwork again; all the while glancing at us judgementally as they walked past. We finally got to order our dishes and, for a third time, asked to be seated in the obviously empty quiet corner of the restaurant. Our server eventually relented and told us about the(super secret???) downstairs seating area, where we ended up for the rest of the experience. The service downstairs was better, but the mood was already set and the damage, therefore, done. To bring my point home, the staff was bottom-of-the-barrel when it comes to what I expect when I patronise a restaurant — they were cavalier, rude and impetuous. No food(no matter how great) is worth such a poor experience. And!!! I pull my race card for this group of people.

This is a cute Italian restaurant with an open kitchen concept. With only 2 chefs there was a little bit of a wait for the food to come. Our group had homemade ravioli, they were a little thick but tasty, a really delicious pasta carbonara with thick cut bacon which still managed to be crispy and a classic spaghetti bolognese. Being that alcohol is so crazy expensive in Norway, the bottle of wine we ordered tipped our bill into the 3 dollar signs.

The pasta dish was average(don’t think those noodles were fresh), the ravioli were homemade and very good. The menu translations are a bit off in some places(e.g., said tomato sauce but came with a cream sauce). Minestrone was just a clear broth noodle soup, no beans, tomatoes, etc… don’t recommend it. Staff was friendly but a little overwhelmed at the dinner hour. All in all it was decent food but nothing to rave about.

Fancying a bit of seafood and seeing they had seafood spaghetti on the menu, I decided to venture in. I was greeted quickly, chose a seat in the window, menu was provided and my order taken. Drink arrived along with three slices of house made bread & breadstix along with garlic butter, much appreciated as I was starving! Ended up having seafood risotto which was very tasty and risotto well cooked. Was told they were out of panna cotta(although it was just after 5pm, so maybe they didn’t make any for the day??), so ordered crème brûlée with passionfruit instead. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. the brulee wasn’t set in the middle and the sugar crust wasn’t really caramalised so tasted just like I was eating sugar granules sprinkled on custard… my server was more than gracious about it and promptly took it back to the kitchen and minutes later provided me with another. the ‘crème’ was at least set but sad to say the ‘brulee’ was still fairly dismal… Service was great and décor was pleasant, fairly minimal. just the dessert that let them down.
