Food was good but service was problematic. Our group of 7 dined there recently. The server was not very friendly, and they took a long time to come over. It was nice to not feel rushed, but they kept on forgetting about us. For example after we finished our appetizers we had to remind him that they hadn’t taken our main order yet so the timing of the meal was not good. For appetizers we ordered two types of empanadas(good, larger than we expected) and asparagus(very good). We ordered various steak entrees for our mains all of which were accompanied by the house salad. As others said this is pricier than the average restaurant in PV and the service was not up to par with the prices.

Worst server in PV works here! We had a server the other night for dinner with such a bad attitude. She messed up the drink order first, never apologized. We asked for the fan to be turned off several times to no avail, then when I waved her over she looked at me like she wanted to kill me. When my boyfriend(whom never complains about anything even when I beg him to) said something to her she was a complete smart ass! We got another server but the waitress was still there staring us down and talking to all the staff about us, it was so uncomfortable we got up and left. We were also disappointed with the loud music and atmosphere as well. Other steakhouses around that are so much better.

We enjoyed a delicious family dinner here for our last night of vacationing at the Villa del Palmar. We walked over as its right across the street. It’s beautiful and modern inside. We had reservations and were escorted to our table as soon as we walked in. We asked for water and were each brought some fancy, overpriced bottle, but we declined that and asked for house waters. Felt a little cheap, but we know they have filtered water, and we would rather pay for soda and wine. Awesome: Crusty bread with 3 salsa– style Dipping sauces was complimentary, delicious, and served very quickly after we were seated. The beef empanadas were spectacular. Poblano chile and panela cream soup was amazing. Tropical fruit salad was also awesome. Our waiter tried to help us order the right amount of food by telling us to share salads instead of each of us ordering one due to the size. 3 of us ordered ribeyes which were cooked perfectly to our specifications and were delicious! We had fries and creamed spinach as a side and that was delicious too! Not so awesome: I was interested in the remochalada salad, and asked the waiter if it was served over lettuce, and he said it was. It isn’t. And I didn’t like it. One of us ordered shrimp pasta and the shrimp was vastly overcooked. A large, shareable salad comes with the entrees, and that would have been helpful to know when we were ordering salads as appetizers. Service was inattentive at best. It’s a good thing we liked our food and that everything came out right and that I only wanted one glass of wine, because our waiter never asked. This is a fine dining establishment, but service needs some fine tuning. The 5 of us ate like kings for $ 160USD(incl tip), so that was a steal.

Despite the bad reviews, we went there to try it out… how bad could it be if it was packed with people waiting to be seated… The service was good, ambience was nice, food NOT so good… expensive for that kind of food. The night before we ate the best steak somewhere else for half the price. We won’t go back…

I think it is a real good place. I ordered the loin with hueso. And empanadas were great. Loved the service and the flan towards the end was great as well. I think it worth every peso we paid. Highly recommended.

Dinner there last night with six others. Staff seemed a little confused. — took us to one table then changed their minds a took us to a small private room. Waiter was slow to arrive, slow to take orders and food took forever. During these long pauses we would have enjoyed having a conversation but the music was club level loud and they were unwilling to tone it down. There are about 100 big screen TVs all over which I hate in high end places. The others had steaks which they thought were just OK. I had a really boring salad and tasteless octopus. — should have known better at a steak joint but I come from a great steak house town and when I’m in PV I’m not craving cow. Prices are what you’d expect in a place like this but not crazy expensive and portions are huge. Wine list was pretty impressive and reasonably priced — very few wines by the glass though. It’s a pretty long haul through rough traffic from where I live on the Southside and I think there are better options close by so unlikely to return.

It’s so freaking good, their service is great, and their prices are fantastic. It seems to be a new restaurant, and my husband and I could tell the owner(who was walking around, making sure things went smoothly) was very concerned about the quality of his establishment. We both had the ‘vaca style’ ribeye, and the were juicy and perfectly cooked. Their bar makes a mean Sidecar or Mojito, and the bread and sauces alone you get before the meal would be worth a repeat visit for me. We plan on hitting this place up again before we leave. A fancy steak dinner for 1000 pesos? Ues please!
