Walked by several times and it was always busy, but we weren’t too interested in hamburgers. After a few days of more traditional food we decided to try it out. It was surprisingly good. Drinks seemed a little on the light side, but I like a strong drink. Sitting on the sidewalk right next to the busy street(close enough that you don’t want to stick your arm out in great of losing it to a passing vehicle) wasn’t as romantic as one might think. Vehicle exhaust and street vendors detracted from the meal.

Ate here twice on this visit. Had to have my chilaquiles with chicken again and they didn’t disappoint. We came in the afternoon this time too and had the margaritas and the tortilla española. It was even better than some we have had in Barcelona! This is always a must stop place when we are in town. Hope you love it as much as we do. I can’t understand how anyone would ever have a bad experience here. Maybe they are just uptight and don’t know how to relax and enjoy life. :)

Great café with tasty Baguette sandwiches. If your in big hurry this probably not the place for you. Laid back and on PV time. Beautiful waitstaff too.

The first place we ate in PV, and perhaps the favorite. The food was delicious, the location perfect for people watching, the drinks were strong yet still tasty. The prices were reasonable. The waiters were friendly. We ended up going back three times; and I don’t think we hit any other PV restaurant a second time.

Lovely breakfast. I had an egg white omelet with spinach and it was very good. Not greasy. I enjoyed my meal there and the service was exceptional. A very lovely place for a meal.

I’ve been in PV for 2 weeks now and I’ve ate at café angel about 3 times for breakfast and maybe 7 times for dinner. Best service and food in town. They tend to be busy all day, because of their specialty, delicious burgers. But if you try their sandwiches, you will not be disappointed. So delicious!

Delicious coffee. Granola & fruit plate excellent. Location affords great people watching. Family owned. Prices are sooo reasonable. Love their memo on each table(included). This is Mexico. Relax & enjoy the culture of relaxation.

So many things went wrong during our visit that this could be a very long review. I will try to keep it short and I’ll end it with some suggestions for the owners/managers. We were seated at a dirty table that was never wiped down after the previous diners. We then sat for quite a while with no service and finally had to wave someone over to order just to get menus. The server told us that they were very busy and that it would take 10 – 15 minutes to get our food. We told him that was fine, and ordered 2 coffees, 2 smoothies, and 2 entrees. My husband ordered a side of hash browns, but the server told him those would take 20 minutes(huh?), so we did not order them. We were brought a basket of bread and jam, but had no bread plates — so we used napkins to catch our crumbs. Our smoothies arrived, and the runner didn’t know which was which, and didn’t even call them by the names that were on the menu. She asked who had the smoothie with strawberries — indicating the smoothie that was pink. Next came my husband’s coffee, but not mine. After waiting close to an hour(during which time two tables of people left due to the long wait) our food still had not come(an omelet and eggs Benedict), and people around us who arrived after us had been served. We finally flagged down the server and asked about our meal. He went to check and we watched as he punched our order into the computer. He had forgotten to put it in. He then comes back to the table and says that our order is on the stove. 15 minutes later my husband’s omelet arrived looking sad and dry with cold potatoes and cold grilled veggies on the side. Mine came about 10 minutes later with a long black hair right on top. Needless to say, we were done. I sent mine back and told them not to remake it, just bring the check. The check had my coffee on it, so I had a bring it to our server’s attention that I never got my coffee. He printed a new check and brought it out to us. I rarely write bad reviews. I know that every restaurant has off days and deals with things that are outside their control. The difference with this experience is how poorly they handled it. Our server didn’t do a single thing to try to smooth anything over. Not one apology, he never checked on us, asked if we were thirsty, gave us any updates on our food, or anything! Every contact with him was initiated by us. Besides the terrible service, both of our meals were cold, and they weren’t served at the same time! I insisted that my husband eat while we waited for my meal and he was almost done by the time mine came. Here is my advice: Take responsibility for your problems, apologies can go a long way. Offer something small to smooth things over — «would you like some more bread?» or «can I bring you a cup of coffee?» Stop seating tables if you’re really that far behind, and try to take care of the people that are already waiting. Only serve meals if you’re serving everyone. I hope that the staff/management of the restaurant read this review(and the rest of the poor reviews I see they have received) and work on their service, otherwise I don’t see how they will survive.

Only go to this place if you are willing to sit & waste time while trying to get service or food. Great location but nothing more. Waited over 45 minutes to receive a sub par hamburger. Terrible !! The waitress was no where to be found. Wasn’t busy & a waste of my time and money.

My wife and I got two rather lousy cups of coffee while we waited an hour for eggs that never came. The waitress looked a bit sheepish when I came and found her to pay for the drinks so we could leave and go elsewhere. PV has been great all week, so there is no shortage of better choices. LOL @ their response, which they seem to have since removed. «It’s only food.» In fact, it never was food, and that was precisely the problem. If you’re in the restaurant business, one might think bringing the customers something to eat would be a pretty low standard.

HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE! Visited the restaurant based upon location and previously seeing several people eating here. Sat down ordered drinks and a meal. 25 – 30 minutes after ordering the waitress brings a bowl of pico de gallo and other accompaniment for the meal. Another 10 – 15 later another restaurant employee comes to the table and says they are out of chicken and offers me ‘cheese’ as a replacement. If you knew you were out of chicken why take my order and furthermore, why bring the accompaniment for food that you know that you can’t prepare. Restaurant response to the situation and time wasted was non-caring at best and made no attempt to satisfy the customer. BTW there is a warning sign on a chalkboard that reads«if you don’t like our food, you still have to pay». Heed the warning and go somewhere else. I left here and had another wonderful meal at Café De Olla

Horrible service. The first thing I noticed was the sign that said«if you don’t like the food you must pay» I should have taken the sign as a «sign» to just leave. I waited for a while to be waited on and then when I ordered chicken fajitas and 20 mins later the server says we are out of chicken. This was after a recommendation from the server to get the fajitas. The restaurant was unwilling to substitute shrimp or beef as a customer service gesture after wasting 30+ minutes there. The only thing great about this experience was leaving. I understand that sometimes a restaurant may run out of stuff but it’s no reason to provide sub par service. My advice is to choose a different place for dining and pass this one by.

Hamburger was very good. Cooked just like I asked. Service was slow. Glad I was not in a rush. Staff was nice enough. Good music.

Sad how badly the service has deteriorated over the last couple of years– Yea, I’m on vacation but I’d like to spend my time differently than wait for an Americano for over 10 minutes.

Went to this restaurant based on reviews here on Unilocal, and was extremely disappointed! The service was horrible, and the food was very bland. It is in a great location, and a cute place, but the guy working when I went was in way over his head. There are other, better restaurants in the area.

Holy Burger! Who would think to eat a burger while in Mexico? Well, let’s say, if you’re hesitant, don’t be. Extremely tasty, wonderful HUGE creations. I had the BBQ, Carmelites onion one(can’t remember the name)…yummy! Atmosphere is great, service is great. Try it, you’ll like it!
