De Pastry Chef is located at Bandar Sri Menjalara, which is a short distance from the newly developed Desa Park City.
Walking in, you’ll be greeted by a huge selection of cakes only a glass window away.
A combination of café and bakery, De Pastry Chef serves a wide range of pastries, cakes, and western main course dishes. This place is becoming a popular hangout spot for the residence of Kepong, but I tried this place out with only one thing on my mind, CAKES!
I would highly recommend the German Cheese Cake. The cheese cake has a light fluffy texture, and each bite melts in your mouth.
Cakes are prices reasonably with good customer service.

A good friend brought me here some time ago to enjoy cakes and pastry. I was a little greedy that day and was hoping De Pastry Chef would serve mains. Fortunately they do!
I was recommended their fruit tarts here are amazingly awesome, and not only that they’re inexpensive! My friend and I shared a sliced of cheesecake and a few fruit tarts.
It was above my expectations! I’d buy more and stuff it down my mouth if I hadn’t order myself a plate of pasta.
Nonetheless, I bought some fruit tarts home, I couldn’t resist the temptations and tried not to eat them while I was driving

seeking for a place for supper but prefer something else beside mamak? You can have a try at de pastry at manjalara if you are happens to be at that area :) they have variety of option for meals and beverage :)
love their blueberry cheese cake :) it’s not expensive, rm7.90 per piece, always wanted to come here to have supper with my mom and sister. it’s our usual place after visiting my grandpa

In a cash-​ridden capital that is Kuala Lumpur, it is pretty hard to find a Western food restaurant that offers both affordable prices and decent Western based cuisine. In fact, it is so hard, you might as well purchase a sirloin steak and grill it at home yourself while swearing as you wonder why did you not inherit your grandmother’s cooking mojo.
De Pastry Chef will be an exception. The prices range from RM6 to RM15, which is less than affordable for these Western-​Malaysian staples. I, for one, liked the mashed potatoes, as it is has a lingering taste of packet gravy on each spoonful of grated potatoes, and definitely exceeded my expectations of it. The cakes are delicious and light to the stomach, with its cheesecake being the highlight of the restaurant most of the time.
However, if you are a lover of personal hygiene, it is best you try to endure the smells of rotting meat and mice due to its environment. There are days when the only scent you can smell is diluted gravy, and there are days when it smells quite literally, like crap. In my own opinion, as long as you are up for decent Western food at an affordable price, then it will be a must-​go for anyone and everyone living near Taman Menjalara.
