We remember this place from 10 years ago. It’s small, with generous outdoor seating under sturdy umbrellas. Whether you want simply a pizza or a full course meal, it is excellent and the service rapid and pleasant. We chose it for a milestone birthday dinner, no regrets. Try the scampi with peaches.

Carbonara pizza!!! Didn’t even know this existed until now. The service and food is excellent. Our host recommended us this restaurant. It is one of the best in Venice. They are very friendly to tourists but they do cater to locals too. Prices are reasonable and the quality is high. Love Venice but it’s hard to find a solid legitimate restaurant, this is one of the few really good restaurants available.

Great service and food in a non touristy setting. Note I haven’t found a place where there aren’t other English speakers in Venice so it’s all touristy in my opinion but the food was great. I’ve read the pizza is well known and the pizza menu was extensive, we got the carbonara pizza but anything we saw other diners eating looked heavenly also. Pasta: we got the penne and it was delicious and perfectly al dente Order the ribola white wine

Very tasty dishes and a nice(and reasonably priced) wine selection. Wait until the sun is below the buildings to eat here since it is not shaded. Very popular, so you may need a reservation(we told them we would be finished in less than 90 minutes, so they squeezed us in). 10% service charge included. Our dinner bill for two with wine came to € 70.

Excellent service and wonderful food and atmosphere. In my wife and I’s discussion of our trip to Europe from England to Rome this is one of the places we keep reminiscing about.

Book to sit outside on a Saturday night. We didn’t and maybe the service was better in the courtyard. Food was ok nothing stunning, recommend squid salad starter and pizza del doge. About € 35 pp with wine, including service.

Beautiful setting canal side in a small square, the service is very good. Most tables are reserved but a few were available the second night we tried. Pasta that we had was very good, but not great. Did not have their pizza but the one at the table next to us looked great.

This place definitely deserves more reviews! We researched a little to find a reasonably priced authentic restaurant and found it! We had a pizza w/pepperoni & red spicy peppers and the spinach salad w/mushrooms, bacon & pecorino. Both were great. The pizza had amazing crust, perfect balance of sauce/cheese, good pepperoni & the spicy peppers gave it little kick. The spinach salad was lightly tossed in a vinaigrette dressing & they did not skimp on the bacon! The mushrooms were alright. This was enough food for my boyfriend and I but we did get some gelato afterwards someplace else. Service was great, our server spoke Italian but I heard others speaking English(I’m sure they would be able to communicate if you had any questions about the menu). It’s away from the touristy areas, as others have mentioned. Very charming to sit outside as it’s very quiet, perfect for an intimate date.

It’s good. In a quieter part of Venice, so easy to get a seat outside in a small square. Staff were friendly and had great recommendations. I had a pizza which was delicious with fresh ingredients. My GF had a creative ravioli. A great restaurant in a city where it can be hard to find good food.

Amazing! Enough said! We found this restaurant in Fodor’s Venice guide and realized it was close to our hotel. The map seemed easy enough to follow. Or so we thought. After a couple of walks down narrow alleys, and ducking through an arched tunnel we come upon an open piazza area where kids are playing soccer and realized we came upon an area where the locals live. Perfect to get away from the touristy area. After walking a bit we finally found the place. The seating area was setup in an open area right along the canal. There wasn’t too many people when we got there and it was very peaceful. I had the mezza luna pizza. Half my pizza was a margherita pizza. The other half was folded over like a calzone and stuffed with eggplants shrimp and cheese. I’m not a huge fan of the bitterness of eggplant but I’m not sure how they managed to cook the bitterness out of it and actually make it taste really good. I recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away from the touristy area. Don’t worry about getting lost. That’s the hidden beauty of Venice. Get a little lost and find your way back. You’ll definitely enjoy your time.
