Gran Viale

My husband and I came here for our last dinner in Lido/​Venice. We walked in when they opened at 6pm and they said we could have a table as long as we could finish dinner in two hours since they were fully booked for the night and would need the table for an 8pm reservation. We shared the scampi with leeks appetizer, the lobster pasta, and some kind of fruit crème brûlée. We were going to order a secondi, but the waitress was very nice and warned us when we ordered the pasta that it was a large portion for two people and that we could order a secondi if we choose after our first dish arrived. I’m really glad she warned us because the pasta dish was a large sized portion for two people. We loved the appetizer and pasta dish and thought the crème brûlée was just okay. They provide you with a bib and all the tools for cracking the lobster/​seafood, but they actually make things really easy to eat. The lobster was a good sized portion and perfectly cooked. I would recommend trying out this restaurant for a nice meal on Lido.

Wir waren dort zu dritt, hatten Vorspeise, Primi Piatti und Hauptgericht, marinierte Tintenfische, Suppe mit Bohnen und Nudeln, Kalbsleber venezianisch mit Polenta und Brathuhn, sowie Dessert Tartuffo und Schokoladensouffle. Dazu Wasser und eine Flasche Prosecco. Espresso und Digestif. Das Essen war gut, die Bedienung aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir hatten dank telefonischer Reservierung einen sehr guten Tisch. Ohne Reservierung ist selbst Mitte Oktober schwierig einen Platz zu bekommen. Die Preise für venezianische Verhältnisse günstig. Das Ambiente ist angenehm unaufdringlich und nicht touristisch verkitscht.

Excellent restaurant! Ate there twice during our stay in Lido Di Venezia. Owner, Luciano, made us feel very welcomed and our waiter, Sergio, went out of his way to take great care of us. We had pasta carbonara with gluten-​free spaghetti. Insalata Caprese was very very good and the zuppa do fagioli was fantastic! Overall great experiences. We’d go back again and again! A must while on Lido do Venezia!

We had vegetarian pizzas. .great variety to order from, we saw some other tables eating good looking pasta. Would have given more stars but for the rudeness of the waitress… she was grumpy and condescending. Tiramisu was half the usual size and not the best I have tasted.

This was the first Restaurant we decided to check out our first night in Venice, Italy. This is an Upscale place.
Elegantly designed and Super fast service. I ordered the Lasagna Classico and it was AMAZING! One thing i have to say about the Italian culture, they don’t like you to take up their tables. When your meal is complete, they want you gone. As soon as you finish something (or they think your finished) someone comes by and swoops it up.
Not that it’s a bad thing. They seem to stand at your table Subtlety to say Hurry up!
PS — When you ask for H2O they want to kno if you want Gas or no Gas? Code word for Seltzer
