We ate here on a honeymoon trip to Venice. It was a nice escape coming to Lido to see the beach. There are many touristy choices for dinner but I think we made a decent choice here. The gnocchi was amazing as it melted in your mouth. It didn’t hurt that it was in a butter and sage sauce. We also had a caprese salad with a full ball of buffalo mozzarella cheese, basil, arugula and tomato. There was bread included and olive oil and balsamic vinegar to add. I recommend these choices but they also had 4 pages full of pizza options which I think they are more popular for. I can at least guarantee you won’t get bad tourist food here and you will hopefully be quite satisfied with your choice of food.

This place was just down the road from our hotel in Lido, and the front desk person recommended it when we didn’t feel like heading into Venice for dinner. It was crowded with locals, which was a good side. Excellent pizza, not so great service, but there was only 2 people for an entire crowded dining room so they couldn’t be faulted. Pizza and pasta were excellent!

I was unable to find a non-touristy restaurant on the lido but this one looked like the best of the bunch. i am sure there are many that I would have known about if Unilocal were bigger there – so come on people start Unilocaling. There were quite a few Italians eating and drinking vino there. We ordered bruschetta which was good and the pizza funghi, which seemed to have canned mushrooms but honestly was good nonetheless. It’s hard to mess up pizza in Italy because the crust and tomato sauce is just sooo good. We also ordered the pasta carbonara which unfortunately was inedible by all 3 of us. the cream sauce was yellow not white and tasted like congealed cheese. It was a nice dining experience overall. Maybe stick to the basics – pizza margherita and spaghetti with tomato sauce. Servers were on it and very nice… for what it’s worth.
