L’Osteria da Seby

The family mentioned going to Osteria de Seby. We were walking through Ortygia Siracusa, and all hungry
The restaurant name is similar to one of us, and heard good things. I checked on Unilocal and there seems to be a bunch of great 5 star ratings in this area.
The Mercado de Siracusa is nearby and has the freshest ingredients from farmers and fisherman supplying the restaurant near like this one.
Open view of the kitchen, small dining area, and then a room to the right that holds more tables. Cosy and rustic is how I’de describe the décor.
There was art on the wall that moved mechanically and used water, was fun to watch moving parts.
Welcomed and changed the linens and put together tables for the party of 8. Flatware, wine glasses, the threatrics alone are what sets a great waiter apart.
Complimentary fresh Brushetta (pronounced brushketta). With sauce, the bread not even too crunchy like melba toast, but soft in the center and easy to eat. Had roasted mozzarella cheese, like a pizza. Everything drizzled with local olive oil. Fresh parsley.
We had a bottle of red house Sicilian wine and waters.
Fresh fried little fish and seafood, and grilled calamari, grilled wasn’t in the menu and we asked for it.

The table ordered: seafood fra diablo and split it among couple. Seafood risotto, not as creamy as we know risotto but fresh and almost rice-​like.
Pork chops, my husband ordered Steak, and the steak came at the end when everyone was done eating. It was delicious so it made me feel bad to complain.
Ps– they (most of Europe) don’t care when you complain, they might do something to your food if you send back
Fresh food cooked perfectly. Stuffed I was glad I didn’t order my own plate of food. Family style portions are to be expected.
Check your bill I believe the tip is added in.
Very reasonable pricing over 100 euros for appetizers, lunch, wine for the family of 6 adults one child.

Great food especially the fish!!! The olive oil dressing on the fish was amazing. We all enjoyed everything we ordered. The
