We’ll it is ok and cheap but not a gastronomic triumph. They cannot cook swordfish, the pasta dishes are devoid of protein but service is cheerful

For anyone who knows Syracuse as well as I do, visiting the town often and have done so for many years Apollonion Osteria da Carlo is the number 1 and one of the best in the whole of Sicily. No idea to describe the quality. Just go there dear Unilocalers and experience it! Maybe hard to find, though it is situated in the center of Siracusa. No flashy place or elegance trying to seduce you. As soon as you have been served the first course by the very nice waiter/​owner, you are in no doubt. I have visited Apollonion several times and all of these visits have been nothing but excellent. Before you go there, give them a call, to be sure there is a table waiting for you. Sicily at its best!
