We came here for drinks on the strength of the recommendations on Unilocal and that ‘T-word’ we don’t say… We had great cocktails(8 € a pop) and were served complimentary nuts, 2 types, and a plate of terrific tempura veggies. We enjoyed ourselves to the point we booked in for dinner the next night. The place is beautifully decorated and restrained so it feels classy, not kitsch. The menu has some classic and some new interpretations so there is something for everyone. It was also great to see that some dishes were available as half-portions so you can sample even more! We started with half-portions of octopus & squid with potato, green beans & pesto and olives/meatballs followed by half-portions of spaghetti vongole(the best I’ve ever had) and pasta with 3 cheeses. For mains we had the slices of hamburger with a side of fries and the baby octopus luciana. I have never seen such small octopus — or so many on one plate. They were tender and melting and went brilliantly with fries(who knew?!) For dessert we had bavarian w/fruit coulis and the millefognie. We shared a mid-priced bottle of wine with dinner, followed by a glass of passito each and J started the evening with a cocktail. The bill for this munificent feast was about 120 €. A great end to our city break in Rome. Ciao bella.

CAN’T SAYENOUGH. This is a hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. O. M. G. If you’re interested in trying new flavors and foods — beyond run-of-the-mill, stereotyped Italian dishes, then you’ve got to try this place. The interior is a cross between Studio 54, with the big, disco-flavored lighting, and modern chic. There’s a bar and separate dining area. We were there twice mid-afternoon and the place was empty. I would have loved to have visited one evening, but couldn’t due to time constraints(so many restaurants, so little time). I’m sure the place gets crowded. The food was incredible, as was the service. Our server made several suggestions to us. They also offer half-orders, which provided us the opportunity to try more dishes. The house red was good(not fantastic), but the desserts were out of this world. I will definitely revisit when next in the area.

This hidden gem is tucked away into a corner. It is well worth the find! We started with wine and appetizers. Each dish was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully! My favorites were the meatballs and potato cheese dish. However, each of them was absolutely wonderful! Mark ordered the seafood pasta dish. I have never had such perfectly cooked seafood and I’m from an area known for its seafood! Every bite led up to swabbing up the juices with left over bread! I ordered a pasta dish with three cheeses. It was based in a fresh tomato sauce that balanced all of the ingredients. There wasn’t anything left on the plate! The expresso ended the meal with a pleasant finish. Great food and great service. Thank you!
