It looks small from outside but has good size internal patio. Service was prompt and menu was in English and Italian. We really liked everything we had from the rabbit pasta to the fish and berry dessert. I agree the food is definitely 5 star and would recommend. Also nice area where the restaurant was located

Wow! Go to this restaurant! I consider myself a food snob, a decent cook, and a hard guy to please at a restaurant. These folks hit it out of the park! The service was excellent. Even though we spoke very little Italian, we were made to feel VERY welcome. Everybody else there was Italian. The food was as creative and delicious as we’ve ever had. The seafood was world class. This is what a nice dinner out should be. Thank you Unilocal for guiding us there.

Best meal my boyfriend and I had in Rome, hands down. To be honest, we were kind of over the Rome food scene on our second day there. After a shitty dinner experience the night before(both service and food wise although service DOES alter the way food tastes, I swear), we thought the Rome restaurant scene was lame. Then we found Osteria 140 on Unilocal. This place has the cutest covered patio. There were gourds on every table and everything else was a clean, pristine white. Service was impeccable. Our waiter and the owner were constantly checking up on us and giving great recommendations. When the owner told us that this was«our home» we knew we hit the jackpot. Service in Italy is usually shit. Every trattoria and osteria claim that they are like stepping into their nonnas house for dinner, but all of them are touristy traps serving the same shit at mediocre quality. This place, it really felt like home. We felt warm and welcome in a place of innovation and unfamiliarity. We ordered: Octopus«ravioli» with shrimp –amazing. Everything is raw(crudo) and it all works so well. Get this. 2 types of oysters(from Ireland) with beer and whiskey caviar –oysters were a little briney but so fresh and the two types of «caviar» we’re a great touch Amberjack Tartar with pomegranate seeds and orange bitters –wow. Incredibly fatty, delicious fish. The pomegranate seeds were doused with the orange bitters. The owner came by and added some olive oil and pink Himalayan salt to the tartar. The combination was perfect. Egg raviolo –ORDERTHIS. Perfectly runny yolk deep fried inside tiny strips of pasta. Kind of looks like a bird’s nest. Served with Parmesan cream aka heaven. Spaghetti Carbonara: –best we had so far. You probably know what this is, and it’s amazing. Veal cheek –so tender and so well made Tiramisu w/paired dessert wine –non traditional and amazing. Wine paired perfectly Pear and Rum tart w/pair dessert wine –so good Prosecco –only had a couple of glasses to try but best Prosecco we’ve ever had and we’ve had a lot. Bottle of white wine –priced at 21 euro from somewhere along the coast of Italy(owner recommended, incredible) In short, this has some innovative, delicious food along side some Italian classics. This is the definition of hospitality. Eat here and you won’t be disappointed!

The innkeeper at the Rome River Inn(fabulous place) recommended this little, off-the beaten path gem. The owners were all onsite and welcomed us in, even though it was close to closing time. This was our first meal in Rome and we were unsure of what to expect, but this place definitely set the bar high for our entire stay in the City. The Eggplant Parmigiana appetizer was one of the best things i’ve ever eaten — not fried, not traditional, but simple, fresh and delicious. I had the Carbonara which was decadent and delicious… the owner said it was the best in the city, and without trying any others, I“m inclined to believe him. My husband had the buccatini ‘amatriciana — similar to carbonara but with tomato sauce… absolutely to die for. All combined with a bottle of montepulicano and a shared tiramisu for under 65 Euro… I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome and am considering going back for one more meal!

Stumbled upon this fantastic place, but seriously this is one of the best dining experiences maybe ever. Perfect roman/lazio menu with local wine, and great service. Had the fish tartar trio, and rabbit, but what blew us away was the carbonara — like if an italian grandma had a pasta baby with a japanese ramen master.
