This review is about a week too late. After 8 days and nights of pasta and pizza this place nailed it. We needed some Indian food badly. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The CTM was awesome. The service was great too. They knew we were tourists, but treated us genuinely as we if we might be back tmrw. Go there.

Was easy to get a table here when everything else around it was fairly busy. Excellent service. Complimentary app/cracker with condiments, as well as a glass of proceso when you sat down. Had saag gosht and cauliflower and both were excellent, not too oily, which sometimes the saag can be. Their lime soda was a bit too salty for me.

Are you: A lover of the authentic, Indian cuisine and you know your pakoras from your samosas, your dhals from your saag paneers? You’ll give it 3 stars. Are you a lover of the authentic, Indian cuisine and you just love to eat it; some curries, some spices — you’re good to go? You’l give it 4 stars, perhaps even 5 stars on a rainy day. This restaurant isn’t at all bad! Seriously, I’m a sucker for my saag paneer, fo sho and I order it at eeeeevery Indian restaurant I go to. And theirs was good. It was«lekker» as we say in Dutch. The naan was also gooood, dip it in garlic and I’m your best friend! I was not a fan of the samosas, but overall — I liked the quality of the food and excellent service, e.g. that the waiter beforehand asks how spicy you’d like to eat, if at all… Those little things, make me happy!

Honestly i am not sure about the authenticity of other reviews. We were in rome and Unilocaled for indian restaurants nearby and made the wrong decision of ordering take out from here. The chicken was stale and tasted really bad. All other curries were drenched in oil and we felt terrible after eating the food. I recommend this to no one and being originally from india, i feel sad to whats being labeled as indian food. Should have given the money to a homeless instead !!

We stopped in Rome on our way to India from the US. After years of eating creamy curries passed as Indian food, it was a welcome change to eat Indian food with real flavors. The service and the food were both exceptional. Highly recommended.

And it’s good value for money too. Special thanks to the person who served us there(I guess his name is Amarjit) but all the staff were equally good.

After eating Italian food for about a week we decided we needed something else. So we found this Indian Resturant only a few blocks away from our hotel. We went with 1 of there set menus plus an extra ghost lamb. I think this is the best Indian food I’ve ever had period. I’ve had a lot of Indian food around the world, but this place is the bomb!

Sometimes you can get bored with the same pasta and pizza everyday and you carave something different, yesterday was that day, so I looked up my options for Indian since I really like currys, and this place popped up. We made the trip and realized we had walked past it many times without acknowledgeing it because it doesn’t look like a a lot, if you know what I mean, but once you go inside its like you get slapped in the face by a dancing troop of Bollywood dancers! The place is decorated from top to bottom in a really nice Indian theme and the smells are mouth watering. They took us to the floor bellow which I thought would be deserted, but to my surprise was packed. We were offered some prosecco and some crunchy type thing with four different sauces, then I had the chicken tikka and the cumin rice, both good, but the reason I’m giving this place just four stars is the tiny portion sizes and imho the sauce of my curry could have been tastier. But apart from that, give it a try, awesome service and good food! Pro tip– if you are very hungry get two dishes or ask for many to share with everyone since they are not very large.

It’d be kitsch, if it weren’t awesome… which it is. For whatever reason, upon arriving in Rome, I craved Indian food. VERY happy to have found this little gem.

One thing that has always struck me about Rome is the lack of choice when it comes to international cuisine. The city is unsurprisingly full of Italian restaurants, but if you want something a bit different, then it can be tricky to find somewhere good. Cue my surprise and pleasure when I discovered Maharajah, tucked away down a fairly quiet road in Rome. Specialising in tandoori cuisine, but also with a good selection of curries, the quality and presentation of the food is very good, combining with a very pleasant atmosphere(although, better on the ground floor than in the basement) and excellent service. Mains are about EUR10-EUR14, rice is cheekily priced at EUR6, and naan EUR3. They also do some very reasonable set menus around the EUR25 mark. As a Brit who misses his curry, I’ve been dying to find somewhere good in Rome, and Maharaja hits the spot nicely.

Superbe ce restaurant indien Etant un habitué de restau indien, ce restaurant à Rome vaut le détour à lui tout seul, nans excellents, entrées très bonnes, plats et légumes à se lécher les babines; allez-y les yeux fermés.
