We sought out this Indian Restaurant, because we were disappointed in the Italian food we had been getting and we were so glad we found it. They don’t open until 7 pm I believe, but we kept coming back we ate at Krishna 134 times in the 3 weeks we were in Italy. The food is excellent, and the ambience is nice, the restaurant and toilets were very clean, and the service is good. The food was very tasty, not quite as spicy as we are used to, but delicious. The portions were good sized, and if I recall the prices were very reasonable. We loved this place. It is down a side street, not far from a Metro(Vittorio Emmanuel ?). It is tricky to find the first time, but you will be back !

We made an online reservation with Kirshna for 6:30pm(18:30) last night and were confirmed. We ended up rushing across town to be there on time… only to be told 1) they were still cleaning & not ready to open, & they had a big party coming, so if we wanted to come back in half an hour they would seat us, but we’d have to be done by 8pm because of the big party coming in. We complained that they accepted our 6:30 reservation, but they we unwilling to change their offer. We obviously didn’t go back. We don’t know where the problem is with the«Fork» reservation system is — with the system or this restaurant, but they should have been willing to solve it when we were standing there. Luckily, we were able to find a nice restaurant willing to serve us without a reservation.

Krishna 13 fills a gap in the landscape of done-to-death Indian restaurants all over the world. Yes, our ancestors were food-centric people, ambience was secondary and they liked the stuffy décor with table cloth, heavy carpeting and maroon napkins(or did they really?). But I strongly believe young Indians want something beyond this stereotypical interpretation of «overseas, mid-range Indian restaurant». Going out for an Indian dinner can be simultaneously modern and satsifying, as Krishna 13 demonstrates. The décor is kitschy and lively(insist on being seated in the back-room) and the host was a fabulously suited Indian man. The music in the background is Indian in flavor while making an effort to be modern. I like how the food was tasty, but not overly rich. The chicken biryani was excellent — the naans were decent, the paneer tikka dry but the specially-ordered palak vegetables light and fresh. The butter chicken too, was light for a notoriously heavy dish. The elaichi tea that crowned our meal was very satisfying. Overall, I like how Krishna 13 strikes the balancing act of pleasing my pretty-traditional mother and the not-that-traditional me in one stroke. Will visit again when I’m in Rome!

We were in Rome for 5 days and had overdone famous pizza and pasta spots, so searched for an Indian restaurant. It’s a 20 minute walk from Colosseum so we had a good appetite by the time we reached around 8 pm. Usually in Europe dinner time is later than america so the restaurant was empty! to our surprise the host asked if we have a RESERVATION?! we said we didn’t, but he gave us a table anyway as his next res was at 9.30. We ordered grilled paneer tikka for appetizer. it was decent, came with a lot of salad, but the sauces(three) with it were too good! For main course we ordered malai kofta and chana masala which was cooked to perfection with garlic naan. Being an Indian i am usually very critical about my food outside india, but i give this place a thumbs up! Our order came quickly and it left us full and happy :) By 9.00 pm all other tables were full, so we were glad we made it early !!! I wonder why people have given this place a bad review because restaurant was full, but it’s true they get really busy around 9, SOMAKE A RESERVATIONPLEASEBUTDONTMISSTHISPLACEINROME!

Beware of this place! One of the most horrible experience. You stand at their door and they refuse to give you food. The restaurant was empty and was no near to closing hours. Who would want to go to a place where they don’t know to treat a customer.

The most horrible experience being an Indian denied food by a fellow Indian. Was denied food stating they would serve food only to a group even though restaurant was completely empty

A solid 4 stars for food and ambience. Desserts 3 star. Indian food around the world tends to be pretty consistent; and this one is no exception. The naan is a little thinner and less chewy than some other varieties I’ve had. Can’t go wrong with any of the mains; Lamb rogan josh is excellent, so is the vindaloo. Prawns were filled with flavor but skimpy in quantity; Tandoori chicken was like any other. Desserts– pistachio kulfi was interesting texture. Gulab jamun a little letdown, not as rich as I had expected. Solid choice for a break from Italian food

While other Indian restaurants in Rome have very few customers, and you most certainly don’t need a reservation … Krishna 13 breaks the mold and provides something interesting for both tourists and locals alike. We didn’t have a reservation, and just walked over expecting to be served. The manager told us that he was full(and he was), but he was able to give us a table as long as he could seat the people who reserved it an hour later. Though I thought it was odd, I said okay and we sat down. They’re really putting effort into the décor; it’s one of the nicer restaurants that I’ve seen around the world. It’s a small space, but doesn’t feel tight. The walls are painted and have genre appropriate paintings and knick knacks. I think there was some soft Indian music on in the background, but I can’t remember for sure. We ordered and got our food very quickly(not like they were trying to speed us along, just because they are well organized). The food is different because it’s missing the cream that’s common in most dishes; flavor comes from sweated onions, garlic and spices. I liked it a lot. The old standards of palak paneer and chicken tikka masala were good, different but good. Service was also good. We only had an hour to eat, but didn’t feel like we were being rushed or not attended to. Who would have thought you’d find a fancy Indian restaurant in a random part of Rome?

Just got turned away from the restaurant. No explanation given. No wait time given. I am an indian and the The Indian host looked at me for 2 secs and just flat out told me there is no space. I think I was just racially profiled

Pure deliciousness!!! As strange as it sounds, this was the best meal during our 2 week stay in Italy! They have great Indian food here, we had the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken and they were both delicious. Very reasonably priced, easy to get to, and I highly recommend it!

An Indian restaurant dressed in great décor with a limited menu, customized to meet Roman palettes. The spiciest dish they had was hardly spicy, and I found myself missing Moharaj from Madrid. It is good, but not great. If this is Rome’s best, then a lot of folks are missing out.
