In Rome, why not try a little Indian, off the beaten path, in the Monti area. The food was really tasty and the service was good. Our waiter was attentive and efficient as our food was served fairly rapidly and arrived once we finished a particular course. We opted to try the fixed-price tasting meat menu for $ 18euro and it did not disappoint. We were well fed and satisfied once our meal ended. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a slightly different experience while in Rome.

AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!!! FIRST off their food is extremely bland, less than mediocre and the meat dishes overcooked. The worst part was finding a wad of hair in one of our dishes ughh! I am not sure how this place has good reviews on the food. But as an Asian Indian I can easily tell you that this is no where close to real Indian food. I have had plenty of good Indian food even living in the US. SECOND — RACIST staff! The moment we walked in we were treated like cr*p by who seemed to be the owner/manager. I have read reviews by other Indian people and they seem to feel the same way about the restaurant staff(also Indian BTW) being racist towards people of Indian origin. We were talking amongst ourselves to be seated outside and the rude owner overheard us. She immediately screamed at us stating«outside reservations only» before we could even ask her!(The outside seating was mostly empty). There were 2 big seating areas in the restaurant separated by a walkway. They proceeded to seat us(5 adults) away from everyone in a separate room without AC or a fan(it was 80 deg F outside). We had to ask them several times to turn on the air which they finally did. After we were done with our meal we walked outside and asked 2 separate parties if they needed reservations. And as I had suspected they did not! They told us they just walked and asked to be seated outside and were given a table immediately. We called the restaurant the next day to make reservations(to chk out if this policy actually exists) for 5 people. The first thing they asked was our name so I proceeded to give them my real«Indian» name. Ofcouse their answer was«all outside seating booked for 2 months». Then about 10 minutes later my brother called them asking for outside reservations for 5 people under a typical if I may«European» name… I believe he said John or David can’t remember. Guess what?! Yep they had a table for 5 outside seating available that very evening! It absolutely disgusts me to see this type of attitude and behavior from the restaurant towards people of certain ethnic backgrounds. It is pretty obvious that they want to create an environment with Europeans/Caucasians. Maybe they think that they will attract more people in??! Or that it is better for their image? Who knows. So if you are brown avoid this place at all costs! Yes the food prices are cheaper as compared to other nearby Indian places but I would happily pay more for better service. Too bad we didn’t have much of a choice to go elsewhere as it was almost closing time at most places and I could not have my elderly parents wait any longer. FYI: Keep in mind that they do charge a 10% service charge(not mentioned anywhere on the menu). I am used to paying anywhere between 15−20% tip in the US so in comparison this is not bad and I would have gladly paid more had I recd any kind of service. Not once through our entire meal did the waiter come back and ask if we needed anything more. My dad had to get up from his seat and go fetch the waiter when we needed extra water or naan. Worst experience during our Italy trip!

Visited this restaurant two times on our visit to Rome. The first time was take out and folks were generally nice and food was decent for a late night dinner. Our experience when we went to dine in the next day was horrible though and the staff was downright discourteous. We wanted to sit outside as the weather was great. All seats outside were empty but we were told that reservations were coming in half hour– well enough– we did. Do a drop by so understood and sat inside and asked would like to move if any cancellations happen. Turns out, there were no reservations and they just didn’t want us(we are Asian Indians) to sit outside and were saving seats for Italians who would only like to sit outside. Thought it was a bit racist and left after giving the folks an earful– so end of the day, food was decent, prices were reasonable but giving it a one star as me thinks we should just not encourage such behavior.
