As the traveler with over 20 years and millions of miles traversing the globe — this is by far close to be the worst service and food place. Scrambled eggs — yellow paste completely unedible with spinach and tomatoes separate Boorish and service with gloomy faces — forgot two juices, coffee brought 20 minutes before anything else. I was sitting like an idiot waiting for all others to get anything. Long story short — first and last time there. I truly wish the store owners best of luck…

On my first afternoon of rambling around Rome’s historic centre, I found myself quite keen on a glass of red and a few moments rest for the feet, so I dragged myself away from the stunning Chieso Nuova up an alley or two in the direction of Etabli. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew I had chosen well — the ambience was instantly soothing and calm, with a roaring fire, deep armchairs and a funky jazz soundtrack in the background. The bar staff were welcoming, friendly and cheerful, bringing my vino to the table after I’d returned from the restroom. A perfect half hour of quietly smooth rest and recuperation followed and it was quite a wrench to strap on the bag and pull on the coat to leave. An effortlessly cool, but unpretentious café — with live music in the evenings too. Definitely a place to be visited again.

Awesome place! Etabli was not at all on my «to see» list for Rome, but we stumbled upon this gem. My boyfriend is more of a «wander and see what we come upon» sort of guy, so we literally happened upon this place after dinner nearby. I love the comfy vibe, with an eclectic mix of living room like furniture, a bar area and a fireplace in the middle of the first floor. They had a great selection of cocktails and a really nice relaxed vibe. The bartenders and severs were all really nice. In fact, this place was so relaxed that some guy brought a pretty large dog in who stayed for awhile!(Maybe it’s an Italian thing?) Anyway, I would be remiss if I did not mention the cheesecake. Literally the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! I expected to have a lot of great food in Italy, but I certainly never expected to have the best cheesecake of my life there. So definitely don’t miss this place if you are looking for a cute, quaint, dark and romantic cocktail bar with awesome drinks and desserts!

Really wonderful relaxed setting and fine lunch menu. Tiramesu was about the best I’ve had! Anxious to return for casual dinner and late night live music.

Great cozy place for the winter, drinks are good and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you can score the table by the fireplace you will have a great night. They also play live music, which is rare in Rome. Strongly recommend.

We ended up here for breakfast one morning, realized it was a wine bar as well that our Roman friends had recommended, and went back that evening for dinner. Breakfast is mostly just pastries, although they did make the best soy latte I have ever had, ever! For dinner we shared a great bottle of wine and a beautiful tray of tapas with local meats, cheeses and honey. For dinner I had the salmon(cooked perfectly) and my husband had a burger. We really enjoyed the décor, the ambiance and especially all the«etablì»(wooden workbenches from Provence).

Fantastic restaurant for fine dining and relaxing in Rome. We shared a tagliere appetizer which was beautiful and a bottle of wine recommended by the host. My husband had a seafood pasta dish recommended by the waiter, and I had the cacio de pepe which was phenomenal, and the best cacio de pepe I had in Rome. It’s definitely a great place to have a long, relaxing dinner. At the end of our meal, the waiter(who spoke little English, but was enthusiastic to try) told my husband he had to have a new cocktail they made with bourbon. They had my husband at bourbon. And it was fantastic.

From the outside Etabli does it’s damn show. Great appearance and awesome furnishing, very classy & romantic but still a perfect place for a good brunch or tea-time in the heart of Rome. The location is nice but have had some problems finding it(my phone’s fault though). Ate some lovely home-made biscuits and had a nice hot black tea, nothing to say about that. The appearance is definitely it’s strong point. Nice armchairs, cute little tables and very NY-style walls and decorations, not expected in Rome, at all. Loved it but service wasn’t absolutely mind blowing — no sugar or napkins with my tea and mediocre waiters… 4 Stars! Definitely suggest it, Thursday night — LIVEJAZZ. Check that out. Best for: Brunch, Linner or Tea. Background music nice and easy going, good volume and nice Hi-FI.

Great spot for people getting tired of the same old cookie-cutter«traditional Rome restaurant experience». This place is a little more with the program and a bit more similar to something you’d find in London or New York. The food, though, still has mostly Roman dishes. Great ambience, fantastic cocktails and wine and good food. As with anything Italian, the background music could do with a bit of a facelift. Unless you are a live Pearl Jam fan.

I am a little late in writing this review(was in Rome about 6 weeks ago) but didn’t want to forget to do it. I don’t write that many reviews; that’s how good Etabli was; that I am remembering to do it! Got there about 7:30, made a reservation for 8:00. Ambiance was charming. Our server was very attentive and professional. Great bar drinks — martinis, as well as wine. Love that they source a lot of local food! And, the real key to what makes a good restaurant for me is vegetarian options. Can’t remember what we had, but I do remember it was perfectly prepared, and we had choices, instead of the standard sphagetti pomodoro/pesto pasta or pizza. Would definitely recommend as a good wine bar stop, dinner spot, or late night.

With a good location, the main room has a stylish(distressed) interior however, if you are unlucky you will be sat in the side room which has a totally different atmosphere. We may have been unlucky but our waitress was surly and cleared our table when we hadn’t finished — even when we pointed this out. Looking at the reviews others have different experiences. Perhaps it depends on the mood of the staff!

Adore this place! Love this place! Go to this place – especially on Thursday night when there is live jazz, which(when good) easily captures my heart. It’s such a sweet little spot, and even with recommendations from my Roman friends, I’m more pleased with stumbling on this place than with the places the Romans have recommended. The bartender and staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable(by far the best I’ve seen in my visit to Rome, but even better than France and NL, where I live or have lived). They are kind, generous, thoughtful – Treating me(a foreigner) just like the others despite my lack of Italian. The food is tasty and flavorful. But don’t go just for the food. Go for the adorable atmosphere. It’s like having friends over to your living room. It’s unpretentious, yet classy. It’s cool and comfortable. The clientele are mostly late 20÷30÷40 somethings, and on Thursday night, obviously appreciate jazz. I could stay here all night – (if I had jazz loving friends, but not sure it would be hard to convince with this atmosphere)! But even solo, this is a cool place to be(trying it out tonight!) The neighborhood might have some tourist traps scattered about, but this isn’t one of them! I haven’t spotted any other non-Italian speakers and there’s no one heckling you to come in(very good sign!). They have small plates of cold or hot dishes. More like little samplers, which is nice if you’d like to try out a few different dishes. I had the parmigiana and tortino chocolate for dessert(both little plates) but wish I had room for more! They also have a cocktail menu boasting all the classics. If you know a bit of Italian(or can at least understand the written language), ask for the Italian menu. Otherwise, you’re missing out on some Roman or Italian specialties that are otherwise a mystery when written in English. I especially love their antique singer sewing machine DJ table! I had a list of other jazz spots and restaurant recommendations for this evening and whatever they are like, I don’t care. I have stumbled upon the sweet spot. And you should too. Get here on Thursday night. You’ll love it!

Great spot me and my fiancé found while in Rome. We ended up going back a few times during trip as we loved the food, wine, laid back feel, live music, and friendly staff. The food menu is limited, but very good. Wine and mixed drinks super good. Live music on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Thursday you can jam if you know how to play. Definitely try Eggplant parm, Lasagna, and Cheesecake. Relax feel with a few different rooms as if you are in a home. Couches and chairs to bring a group of friends to break up room.

Live music! I finally walked in this place after passing it many times and it is now on my list of «places to take visitors.» There are comfy couches in corners, dinner tables in the center, and one long, fully stocked, beautifully lit bar facing the live jazz band. As we were seated for drinks and a bite to eat, we checked out the people walking in and said, «So this is where the cool people go.» I had a phenomenal margarita with my Hamburger Etablì; my friend couldn’t resist ordering the Pesto Lasagna with Brie(did she say today? I guess her diet starts tomorrow). Both dishes were good, not somewhere for tourists to try the best Italy can offer. The menu is short; the place isn’t known for its food but the scene. All in all, the experience(good food, great drinks, awesome music, and trendy ambience) was one I look forward coming back to. This place is rad.

I’m on vacation, I’m in love with Rome, and yes I am biased. So here we go for what its worth. It is a wonderful restaurant tucked away off Piazza Navona. I stumbled on it(for a change i wasnt inebriated!) on a beautiful full moon night, as I drifted aimlessly on the cobblestone walkways. There was a small sign on a chalk board that said Etabli and i could see a band setting up inside. It was around dinner time so I walked in, and walked up to the bar(I wasnt gonna ask for a table for one if I can meet someone !) and yes, its a wine bar and yes I am in Roma, but I drink whiskey and they have a nice selection. I order my single malt, they dont screw up and drown it in ice — so far so good. Moving on, the bands tuning their instruments, the manager — dont remember his name — strikes up a conversation — real friendly chap. Helps me order my meal and for a picky vegetarian, I had enough options to make me happy. Normally I say vegetariano and they point to one item on the menu ! Excellent, options are good ! The food was great, the portion sizes were perfect. The dessert was raspberry tiramisu and it was gone before I could blink ! The band started playing, the music was great, people started milling in, pretty soon it was packed. So get there by 7 if you want to pick your seating, I would reckon. The pretty brunette was amused by my camera and strikes up a conversation(I am so lugging it around everywhere I go!) Excellent start to a wonderful night in Rome, Must visit, must visit often !

This would be 5 stars if they still served dinner. We went in looking forward to a great meal based on reviews from a few sites, and were disappointed to find they are only a wine bar with snacks now. We sat down and had a glass of wine and ordered an antipasto as we decided where to have real dinner. The buffalo mozzarella with grilled vegetables was delightful. The wine was good and atmosphere was great with some classic lounge music playing and lots of neat tables/seating options. We later regretted not trying more antipasti as our dinner ended up being far inferior. If the classification changes to wine bar I’ll give it 5 stars.

Can I give 500 stars? What a find! Thank you Unilocal!Went here on our trip to Rome in January — — yeah, i know — i’m late with my reviews. But I absolutely loved, loved, loved this place! The décor was reminiscent of being in Provence… the staff was good looking… the drinks were super tasty… and the food was divine! Like OMG, divine! :) The bar opens 1 hr earlier than the restaurant does, so when we got there around 7:30pm — there was a good group of people having fun in the bar/lounge area. And bonus for us, because we were the first restaurant guests. Others didn’t start filtering in until 8:15 or so… Pre-meal cocktails: My amaretto sour was exactly how i love it – shaken and slightly frothy Husbands mojito was mighty tasty too On to the food: My husband ordered a pesto lasagna(i think)… super good. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca — –OMG, out of this world, and I am not even a veal person And for dessert we each ordered our own — — can’t remember what my hubs ordered, but i had the BEST pistachio crème brûlée in the WORLD! :) I cannot recommend Etabli enough! Seriously… you MUST go here. :)

Looking for the local hangout for all the cool kids — this place has it all brown haired Fabio, sassy italian ladies looking to be the next elisabetha, the sophisticated«situation»…tucked just off the piazza novana(the beautiful but touristy dining populous of Roma) the Etabli won’t disappoint. It is a quaint wine bar/restaurant. The cheese and meat plates plus a healthy selection of wines will surely delight. Highly recommended.
