Everyone was super nice there and most importantly, the food was really good for the price. We had beef carpaccio for an appetizer and a beef medallion for the entrée. I’d never been to Italy before and I definitely felt a warm welcome at Cybo.

Expectations were raised on our first night when walking off the Piazza Navona, faced with the standard displays of food entrees displayed like school science projects and the barrage of invites from staff to eat inside other establishments, we stumbled upon Cybo. Very nice setting with no display of food out front and mood lighting set to end a perfect night out, we were sold. The waitstaff was also very friendly, so good marks there as well, but what sets the restaurant short is the actual food. I ordered a medium filet that was cooked to the right temperature but lacking in any flavor other than too much salt. It was also a little hard to cut into the steak using the provided butter knife. And in case you think I may be a bit harsh, a travel partner had the lamb and was also rather disappointed, noting a poor fatty cut of meat. Both our mains were 25 Euros, for that price we should have at least been better accommodated with meals prepared with better care and/or effort. If you do end up eating here, the pasta dishes got higher marks from others in the group… but I will advise you to stay away from the proteins. We had meals that I will always remember during our trip, some of which were half the cost of this particular dining experience. However, in this case I can say I won’t quite remember Cybo in the same light. During our four day stint in Rome this was by far the most disappointing meal of the trip.

I have a rule when traveling in a big city: don’t go to restaurants within two blocks of a designated«tourist area.» The rule holds true with Cybo. Cut me some slack, man. We were tired on our first night in Rome, but its pretty face doesn’t translate to its food. I had the hazelnut-crusted lamb. What a disappointment. It was chewy, and very difficult to cut with a butter knife. I was not given or offered a steak knife. It was served with fried artichokes which were good, but only because they tasted like fried food; that they were at some point artichokes was not discernible. My friend had the filet mignon and was similarly disappointed, and also not given a steak knife. He didn’t finish it. For 25 Euros, we should be allowed a decent cut of meat cooked well. We asked too much of Cybo. If you do not heed my warning, stick to the pasta, aka«first course» section of the menu. Our wives had ricotta, spinach, and bacon ravioli and it was pretty tasty. But still, the bottom of our list of food we have had in Rome.

Wife and I in Italy for 4 nights. This place was a block from our apartment. We had drinks here each night and the bartender George was great. We are cocktail snobs, in the US we only order cocktails at mixology bars. This place made great hand crafted drinks, no mix. We ate dinner one night and enjoyed all courses. Great modern vibe and good service. People who suggest service is slow may not understand that European service is slower than American as they allow patrons more time to relax. We really like this place. Definitely order pasta, that was the course that knocked our socks off.

The place looks great, and atmosphere is lovely. Pity about the service and staff. VERYSLOW service, it was an hour between ordering and any food reaching our table. We really weren’t in a rush and were more than happy to take our time over a romantic dinner, so the fact we ended up wondering where our food was is definitely not good. The food was tasty, but was overshadowed by the long waits and lack of service.

Settled on the signature Italian cobblestone, the look of the restaurant out-performs the food. I have dined here twice with friends and seen quite a bit of their menu; no disappointments but also nothing stellar. In my first experience, I had ricotta cheese ravioli in a pesto sauce with bacon and my friend got gnocchi in a tomato sauce. Both dishes were good and left us happy and satisfied. The second trip, I had a steak with porcini mushrooms and rosemary potatoes. The meat was perfectly cooked and was balanced nicely with the salted potatoes. The mushrooms on the side were lacking in flavor and didn’t make an impression. All the dishes have excellent presentation and the arrangements are beautiful. I recommend people to come here for dates. I suggest tourists to skip this restaurant to try better food at better prices nearby. Servers were attentive and professional; they went along with the elegant theme of the restaurant. Dim lighting provides a romantic setting. Drinks come in variety and priced between 8 – 10 euro. I suggest skipping the martinis and mixed drinks and ordering their wine.

Upscale and young, trendy Fun, non traditional Italian bar with a mid to late 20’s crowd. Instead of the usual attitude you get from a foriegn bartender when you speak English, our bartender asked the man next to us for help in translating our order so she wouldn’t offend us(unlike me, my date spoke perfect Italian and was just humoring my attempts to not butcher the language and heard the whole conversation). My after dinner drink came presented on a napkin and rectangular plate, a nice classy touch that you never see anymore. Excellent liquor selection and wines by the glass, not a bad way to spend a few hours with a friend.

A little bit pricy venue, but the food is quite tasty. Wine and cocktail lists are worth reading.
