Fantastic pasta. Good value. Nice veal main. Sommelier made good recommendations in regards to wine.

This is the best and freshly made pasta that I had in Rome. We got there at 7:15pm before it opened at 7:30 and there were already people waiting to go in. They took the people who had reservations first and we didn’t have one but they had room for a handful of more people so I was able to go in with my cousin. So I suggest you make a reservation if you plan to go with a group of people or anything. The place is small but nice. Could maybe use a little more decoration on the walls and some low music inside but that didn’t mean much once you ate the food. The food was amazing. We were very satisfied with what we had ordered which was the erbazzone for the appetizer and my cousin got tortellini di zucchini and as a dessert Colline Emiliane and she loved it. I got the Bolognese pasta which was really good! The service was quick but not rushed and very nice! It’s also two blocks away from Trevi fountain which is nice as well!

I don’t know where to begin. The service here was ridiculous. We didn’t have a proper waiter, instead the bus boy played the part. While he was nice, he barely spoke and was unable to describe the dishes or the wine. The food was bland and nothing to write home about. I ordered the soup with pasta and my husband ordered the stuffed tortellini soup. Neither of us were satisfied nor did we bother to finish the soup. They were both salty and lacking flavor. I then had the spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli which tasted like something I could easily make at home using store bought ravioli and tomato sauce. My husband ordered the veal with mashed potatoes. They ran out of mashed potatoes so they gave him spinach. His spinach was lacking flavor like everything else. His veal was cooked well but the sauce did not add much flavor, extra cream for nothing. And finally, our«server» gave us bread without asking and then charged for it! Not that the amount bothered me(2 euro), but I’ve never been to a high end establishment that gives you bread without your request and then charges you for it. We found this restaurant because of the Michelin guide but it definitely did not live up to the expectations. There was a crazy wait here for lunch, which we didn’t mind, and the place was filled with locals — but I’m not sure why. There is too much great food in Italy to have a meal here. But, if you walk by — you can see them making the pasta from the window and that part was neat!

Food is fantastic, staff is extremely welcoming, definitely get a reservation though. The homemade pasta was top notch, and even better, they were so busy they easily turned away 30 people in the time we ate, but they never pushed us out, or hurried us along. In fact, we had to ask for the check, they allow you to relax and enjoy your meal. Owner is wonderful and friendly.

On a visit to Rome in July, came for dinner after asking our hotel to book reservations a couple weeks in advance. We stayed at the St Regis and the restaurant was about an 8 minute walk away. The food here isn’t Roman but from the Emilia region which is in Northeastern Italy. It’s close to the Trevi fountain as well and was opened in 1931. They make their food by hand and apparently they stretch their pastas the traditional way. It’s located on a pretty narrow alley but once inside it is bright and inviting — described in one review like«grandmas house». The service was very friendly and there were several people there at 9pm on Saturday. We ordered the mortadella and spinach pie appetizers to start. The mortadella was soft and pillowy — excellent. The spinach pies were ok — but cold. We orders four different pastas(2 half raviolis and 2 tagliatelle). The tagliatelle alla bolognese and the pumpkin sage ravioli were both fresh and flavorful. Also they were all half portions which allowed us to try so many. For desert we had the tiramisu which was very tasty and also homemade. Overall a very good experience and recommended!

Holy moly this is a good one! Homemade pasta in a family run restaurant. Isn’t that what we all are looking for when we holiday in Italy? The food was great, the wine was too! Would highly recommend a reservation but if you got there close enough to when they open, they might be able to accommodate you. Loved it and I’m pretty sure you will too!

Wonderful family run experience! My friend and I ate here two nights in a row and had a really great time. My take away lesson is to make a reservation to ensure a spot and to make it a little easier on the restaurant staff. They kindly accommodated us both nights, but many parties came in after without a reservation, and they were not seated. The staff tried to accommodate everyone and it seemed stressful for them! I had the tagliatelle with porcini and with bolognese sauces. Both were delicious, but I would recommend the porcini! It was super light and fresh. The aunt makes all the pastas! My friend had the ravioli with pumpkin– so delightful and fresh! The desserts are homemade! We had the chocolate almond cake for dessert and s daily special: a strawberry custard pie. They had fabulous presentation and were delicious. The main water is a charming and genuine man. He is a very sweet, knowledgable person. I saw in other reviews that people were ignored. I am sure this is not intentional as I watched both nights as the whole staff accommodated everyone to the best of there ability. It is a very popular and busy restaurant, and there is no reason not to cut them some slack. Take your time and enjoy!

We easily got reservations on a Friday night and were very excited based on the reviews. Unfortunately the meal and the service were just average and we’re puzzled by the high marks??? We had our First piatti, the rigatoni bolognese. Nice, flavorful, but not anything more than we had elsewhere in Rome. The pasta was cooked unevenly, some of it over cooked. Unfortunate. We also had the stuffed ravioli with spinach and ricotta and it was hopelessly bland. Just… blah. Our second courses, the meatballs on mashed potatoes and the stuffed pork cutlet were also just average. I actually had to salt the meatballs, not what I’m expecting in a highly rated restaurant! To have to season post service? No. There was nothing to them! No flavor. Meh. The cutlet was fine. But it is served by itself on a leaf of lettuce. If you don’t get a First piatti, make sure to get a side of something or you just have the cutlet on a plate. Poor presentation. Perhaps this was an off night. The service was satisfactory but for such a small place we hoped for more. When we walked in a waiter jerked his thumb over his shoulder to the backroom and said shortly, «First table.» Not even shown to a table at a nearly five star restaurant? I’m not impressed.

Really enjoyed the asparagus and pork cheeks pasta — they somehow achieve this amazing balance with the asparagus where it’s refreshing and not too asparagus-y. The braised veal was fall apart tender with a wonderful sauce, which with the creamy mashed potatoes was just a creamy mouthful of heaven. The hazelnut cracker crust with lemon /limoncello cream filling dessert was wonderful — subtle with both the hazelnut and lemon and DELICIOUS!

Wow! Einfach super leckeres italienisches Essen.

Colline Emiliane specializes in dishes from the Emilia-Romagna(bologna) region. Reservations are highly recommended. I had the lasagna ragu which is only served on Sundays. The lasagna was spinach and stuffed with a meaty ragu and topped with bechamel cheese. It was one of my favorite dishes this far in Rome! My friend had the tagliatelle ragu which was made with a thin egg noodle which was also excellent. Highly recommend this place especially if travelers want to be exposed to something outside Cucina Romana.

On our first night in Rome, the BF and I were looking for restaurants near our hotel and Colline Emiliane were in the list of «great reviews» and«within walking distance.» But alas, but no reservation and a packed house, we had to venture else where. The next day, I called when the restaurant right when they opened for dinner and got a reservation for 9:30pm. So if you’re like us and have adjusted to the Italian schedule of eating late for dinner, you can probably snag a same day reservation. For dinner, we actually skipped the antipasto since we «snacked» earlier that evening. We ordered the pumpkin ravioli and the veal cutlet to share. Both were amazing, especially the ravioli. The BF does not like pumpkin, but he actually liked this pumpkin ravioli here! The one downside is that I think this place had the smallest portion size in all the places I ate in my two weeks in Italy. We ended up also ordering the tagliatelle bolognese after the veal since we were still hungry. The tagliatelle was ok, I preferred the ravioli more. I would definitely come back for more pumpkin ravioli. =)

Loved it so much went there twice during a few days stay in Rome. The pasta’s were perfect and homemade and the desserts were fabulous. Sometimes they run out of some of the desserts by dinner time so went once for dinner and once for lunch. Reservations are a must. The customer service of the family members that work there was friendly. It’s not a fancy place but just very good home cooking. Fav restaurant so far in Italy.

We stopped in on a rainy day for lunch. If you don’t know this place is here, you will miss it… and that would be a rotten shame. The restaurant is small and family owned. Upon entering, you will see home made desserts to your right, made by the mom. Some of these have won awards, if I could only remember the name. It was nutty and reminded me of a pecan pie… a slice of heaven. They had just opened for the day and service was quick and attentive. We had two different dishes of stuffed pasta, Spinach Ricotta and Pumpkin. Both were delightful, but the spinach and ricotta was magnificent. When in Rome, map this place out and give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

A cozy place with decent bathrooms. It was worth the 45 wait time to get a table seated right by the door with people standing near us; I did not mind because I was enjoying the fresh Caprese salad, and tagliatelli with olive oil and tomatoes and a side of spinach. The noodles were extra thin and soft and something I’ve never had before. The dishes were light and simple and I think that is the key to any dish. A few fresh ingredients is all one needs to make a delectable dish. For desert we ordered tagliatelli bolognese and another side of spinach. The pasta was that good. It confused our server.

My girlfriend and I selected this restaurant after finding it in the Michelin Guide and reading the positive reviews on Unilocal. We made a reservation, arrived, and were promptly seated. We ordered water, a bottle of red wine, and a salad to start. The service was good, but slow. The restaurant was full and there was one waiter and a guy helping him, both were very nice and spoke English. We didn’t feel rushed and the waiter told us to take our time. After the salad course, we both ordered pasta. I got the tagliatelle bolognese and she got the taglioini pomodoro. Both were very good, but were typical of what you could find at a typical restaurant in Rome… usually at half the price. We ate that course slowly, while enjoying our wine and conversation. When we finished, we continued to talk and drink our wine. The waiter came over and asked us if we’d like dessert and coffee. We said yes and ordered two espressos. While looking over the dessert menu, an older gentleman, perhaps the owner, came over and took the menus from us, told us that we’d been there too long(almost 2 hours) and that we had to leave. This took us both a bit by surprise because the wait staff had been so friendly and had never hinted at us needing to hurry up, nor offered us dessert any earlier. While it’s certainly understandable that a popular and small restaurant has people with reservations that they need to sit, there are more polite ways of hurrying people up. The waiter seemed a little embarrassed about what happened, brought us our espressos and the bill, we paid, and left. Despite the rudeness of the owner, we enjoyed our meal(though we wanted dessert), but there’s really nothing special about this place. The food is pretty standard at a slightly higher price point. There are certainly better(or comparable) places to eat in Rome, but you won’t be disappointed with the food here.

We arrived in Rome, threw a coin in the Trevi fountain, and searched Unilocal for a lunch spot. There was a 25 minute wait for lunch. Surely a good sign. Mortadella– another day, another meat. A good choice. Tagliatelle bolognese– perfect split for two. Veal bolognese(fried with ham and cheese) — could’ve easily eaten more of this. One of the lighter meals we ate… Bread is extra, so a good disincentive.

Come here for dinner! Join the locals here for a cozy setting and delish dinner. Make a reservation, I saw people turned away because this place was fully booked. Our starters are the soup of meat dumplings in clear broth and ravioli filled with pumpkin. The soup was heavenly with many dumplings in an addictive and savory broth. The freshly made ravioli filled with pumpkin was delish. The pumpkin was sweet like eating candy. Our entrees were the ravioli filled with sausage, spinach, and cheese and the veal topped with ham and cheese. This Ravioli dish was another winner for me and the veal had a real kick to it with the flavors of rich melted cheese and salty ham. For dessert, I had the chocolate pudding flan and my hubby got the cake filled with nuts. Hope to come back to Rome to do dinner again in this place.
