Review as a bar-scene only — probably not best for the oldsters, but always convivial and fun. Regularly packed with gorgeous local eye-candy and happy drunken cheer rather than drunken loutishness.

My wife and I heard about this place in our guide book. I had the spaghetti and my wife had Saltimbocca. I didn’t realize the spaghetti had tuna on it but it was pretty good! The wife’s dish was even better. It sort of tasted like breakfast sausages. It says they have free wifi but it didn’t seem like anyone could log into it. Overall a good lunch.

Clubs and street life in Roma is something not be be missed. The city is alive every night with these wonderful bars, and restaurants. I had the famous Roma dish – Cacio e Pepe. It is a dish that I must try and make at home. It is proof that you do not have to spend a great deal of money to dine well. Street life in modern times certain has its origins in Rome! I am not sure why other reviewers find people to be not friendly? I think there are generational differences amongst reviewers. This is not Disney land. If you take the time to explore the menu, and attempt to speak a little Italian, you will get wonderful service. Service is not a given! Enjoy if you make it to Bar del Fico. Roma!

Went there 3 times when in Rome! Locals hang out there, you can watch people play chess, cool corner place to watch people go by and really good pasta. Also the place itself looks like its out of an old movie. What else do you need?

Came here twice on our short stayed Roma trip. Once for appertivo(happy hour), and another for pregaming drinks. First time in — place was sparsely populated in the early afternoon. Ordered a drink each with some pretty good cocktails on the menu. Was thinking about food, but realized they had free munchies off to the side for those who bought a drink(tiny sandwiches, pizza slices, flavored bread and the such). Very relaxing after a long trip over from Venezia. Our second time in — evening time with a good young crowd on a Friday night. In this instance we had to pay for the drinks at the cashier first then head to the bar with the receipt. Very strong cocktails doled out, and a strong beer for myself. Overall a great bar for anytime of day, and a must stop for anyone visiting.

Hispter bar !

Best meal I’ve had since getting into Rome! Stumbled into this place by accident when looking for another restaurant. The look/feel of the place is not touristy at all. We were able to sit near the window to people watch while enjoying a great meal and a great bottle of wine. Will come back again!

Very cool place in a great location. We visited during the afternoon one day for a beer(alla spina). It has a chill coffeehouse vibe during the day. There were a few people on laptops, working perhaps, and some people just getting off work and getting a drink. We sat at a cute table facing outside and it was very relaxing. Good service; nice place to take a break from walking around.

À une rue de la Piazza Navona, vous trouverez ici un endroit très sympathique pour boire un verre et où les cocktails sont vraiment très réussis(c’est un régal aussi bien pour les papilles que pour les yeux).

Very cool, fun spot! Lots of attractive and fun people. Not snobby at all. Just a great vibe and everyone is smiling and having a good time. I also loved the music. It definitely doesn’t take over the place but when you are waiting for a drink, it’s fun to dance a little. It’s in the heart of a bunch of bars. Drinks were delicious too. Overall, this place has it going on!!! Get up in there.

I’ve walked past this place for over a week now and it is always packed. Things perfectly worked out, as some new italian friends invited me here for aperetivo. Three drinks, two proseccos and one white wine, came to 15 Euros… And we were happy to repeat this order four times. This is an excellent price, being that it is city center and the tourist hub. The place is filled with locals and has a great outside patio area. Seating outside is definitely a battle to get and is well worth it… I enjoyed sitting under the enormous fig tree. The aperetivo was generous and quite good… Little sandwiches, flat bread squares, and the crispy potato wedges were the best… reminded me of home fries we commonly have at brunch in the States. A lively environment and I look forward to another visit!

We were passing and just stopped for a quick pint. Rustic and great. Men playing chess in the corner outside. Great for people watching. Would go again. Probably will tomorrow…

What a great meal and wonderful ambiance. This place is actually away from the traditionally touristy restaurants that were in the piazza. Services was fine, the food was really good, and they had good wine list, all at a reasonable price. We had two bottles of wine, two pizzas, 4 other dishes, all for € 100. Not bad

Pretty cool and hip bar and lounge located right behind it’s restaurant. Gets very crowded Thurs-Sun. Crowd age between 25 – 45. They play the hottest jams(Top 40) You have to pay first, then take the receipt to the bar to get a drink.

One star may seem extreme, but I can’t possibly give Ristorante Bar del Fico a higher rating. I had decent expectations for this place because it appeared on an Italian website for having one of the most beautiful kitchens. It’s too bad their chefs and servers are completely incompetent. I spent quite a bit amount of time writing out my complaints about their terrible timing. I decided to keep it short. Each separate plate came terribly late; entrees were 30 minutes apart so by the time I got my order, someone was done with their dinner and another person was starving. the food looked old; it was definitely waiting at the window for quite some time(dry carbonara? a crime). The servers have horrible attitude. The only upside is the décor. That’s it. Ristorante Bar del Fico is a waste of time and money for borderline bad food. I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone.

Like others ran into Bar Del Fico by complete chance. Walking about the neighborhood we were drawn in by the décor. The atmosphere inside: incredibly energetic, almost party like yet refined. It’s a large space which spreads out the groups nicely. Top notch execution across the courses we had. Very good spot for young singles/couples in their 20s/early 30s.

We happened upon one of Rome’s hottest restaurants quite by accident. We were immediately intrigued by the funky interior design, something we didn’t see a lot of in other Roman restaurants, which seem to trend toward the traditional. It was a Saturday night around 10pm and we had no reservation, so the fact that we waited 2 hours for a table we can blame squarely on ourselves(even if the very kind, very stressed manager continually promised us it wouldn’t be more than another half hour or so). While we waited, we hung out in the lively front area, drinking complimentary wine and laughing with the other customers at our mutually hopeless situation. When we finally did sit, we had a fantastic meal, with house wine for two for a mere 60 euros. The service wasn’t great – I think they were all just exhausted, but the energy of the room(s) more than made up for it. The reason it took so long to get a table is that, though this place is huge, nobody ever leaves. We would definitely return, only next time we’ll make a reservation for a table before 9pm and be one of those tables that stays for four hours.

I wish there is a bar like this in my neighborhood. A warren of rooms to hang out in, a large bar area and a nice aperitivo spread. Great tasting Spritz. It was also fun to stand outside under the huge fig tree, soaking in all the Roman local color. For being so close to Piazza Navonna, this place is surprisingly not touristy at all. Why 4 stars? Forgoet Via Veneto. This is where La Dolce Vita is at.

Definitely a fan of this place(and of Roma in general)! The location is convenient and near well known attractions– the Trevi Fountain to be exact. My friends and I had dinner here– from the service to the food and the décor it was an A++ experience! I will never forget this restaurant because right after the hours we spent talking, enjoying the food and wine and each other’s company, we went to see the Trevi Fountain and it was a night to remember. Thank you!

This is an experience you must have if you’re in Rome. This beautiful café/bar is a short walk from Piazza Navona and the place to order un café(an expresso) or un doppia café(a double expresso). Gorgeous ivy covers the building and it’s wonderful to sit and sip expresso and watch the world go by. Regulars, old Italian men sit playing chess every afternoon. It’s like something out of a film, you can’t make this stuff up. It is atmosphere pure and simple. I challenge you not to like it!
