Aristocampo

Came here because of a recommendation of an ex pat living in Rome who is a regular. Best carbonara I have ever had, by far. Loved the décor and laid back ambiance. Waiter, although the language was a bit of a problem, was helpful and attentive. Prices were very fair. A gentleman came over to play violin for us, and that was a very very nice treat to go with our meal. Would come here again and will definitely recommend!

Not so good, and the waiters were not so nice. The price is okay but only the decoration is worthy. Plus the restaurant is in trastevere so I expected better …

I was fairly disappointed in this restaurant. Staff although friendly were very occupied most of the night drinking with a table of young American tourists. Food was ok, Bruschetta was average, my chicken was moist but the potatoes were dry and old. The fish they serve the food in does make it tricky to eat out of. The lasagna did have a nice flavour. Décor is fun. I probably wouldn’t go back. So many other restaurants in the area to try out.

3 – 3.5 Meal and service were good. Ambience was good also. Service was extremely quick and prices were more than reasonable. So, why three stars?
Mostly because the flavors were just so so. Nothing extraordinary, except for the freshness of ingredients. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, the freshness will upgrade this place to a four. So, we’ll wee if I return to try other dishes. I expected the taste buds to sync and/​or pop, nope. Not with taste, but I tasted fresh. To be fair, only had eggplant primo piatti, eggplant antipasti and fettuccini.
Tiramisu was fantastic. Only had a tiny taste but it was spectacular, do try.

Had a wonderful meal here, from the antipasti to primi and secundi. The servers very friendly and great with our son, who was fascinated by the candles in the bottles. Loved watching the turistas go by as we relaxed. Smaller and less hectic than some of the other restaurants that located right on the piazza.

Gegrillte Gemüse super lecker, Essen okay, Bedienung uninteressiert… sehr touristisch…

Nestled along the bustling main tourist strip that is Travestere, this cute little restaurant tries to stand out by its sing at the front «hate war and tourist menu.» Needless to say, that enough for me to give this place the red light. Very effective marketing, or I’m just an easy catch ;) What I was really looking for a small but charming place where I could sit outside, and this place had the required elements!
The atmosphere was really charming. Candles stand on a barrel at the entrance which is literally covered in the wax from hundreds of previously burnt candles. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was also very good. I ordered the octopus salad for entrée and pasta with fresh buffalo moza and cherry tomatoes for mains. Honestly speaking, I wasn’t blown away by either (occy was a little bland and pasta was a little salty), but the pasta my friend had with basic tomato sauce and pecorino cheese was simply delish! Afterwards we shared a tiramisu which lived up to all expectations.
In short I would defs recommend this place. Go here before you get hassled into one of the other larger joints along the strip.

Not sure what the 3 stars is about. Attentive staff, fun ambience, decent prices, nice location, great music, AMAZING food. Is there something that is left to be desired– methinks not, folks.

I really liked this place! The décor was great, with huge barrels of melted colored candle wax. It felt really authentic and cozy. Our waiter was also very nice.
The antipasti was awesome. The meat was fresh and flavorful, while I really enjoyed the cheese. The grilled zuchini, apart of thhe antipasti, was one of my favorites, since it was unique and tasty.
For the main meal, i had pasta with tomato sauce and bacon. It was pretty good and the sauce was great, with bursting with flavor. Its a great place to try, and not too expensive.

A cute place just off Piazza S Maria in Trastevre — the ceiling is hung with wine bottles and there is candlelight everywhere, even the bathroom. I would give 3.5 if I could.
Theme: The sign outside says they hate «war + tourist menu». So of course we went in, as did every other tourist.
Antipasto: mixed meat & cheese. A good amount of several salami’s and two different cheeses, plus some grilled veggies. A nice spread, but pricy at € 20.
Drinks: Lots of wine by the hotel, mostly at reasonable pieces.
Primi: I had pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage. It was good, but would have been way better hot. Alas, it was lukewarm. My friends absolutely raved about their dishes though.
Service: really friendly and efficient
Bathrooms: 2 out of 3 key elements were present — soap + TP. No toilet seat though. (Seriously WTF on this? Can someone explain why there are no toilet seats in Rome?)
Overall it was good but a bit overpriced. Worth a go if you are in the area.

Ich war im Sommer vor einem Jahr dort und habe es so super in Erinnerung, dass ich Rom alleine wegen des Restaurants öfter besuchen könnte ;-) Das Essen war großartig, das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis stimmte vollkommen und das Ambiente ist einfach unschlagbar. Ein wunderbares Restaurant!

Wir sind anhängliche Kundschaft. Immer wieder essen wir hier im Aristocampo und das hat den einfachsten Grund der Welt: Wir wurden hier noch nie kulinarisch enttäuscht. Heute gab es Frische, selbstgemachte Pappadrelle mit Tomaten und Pecorino sowie Rigatoni Carabonara. Als Nachtisch ein wirklich sehr gutes Tiramisu (Suppt nicht, fest und cremig, süss aber nicht pappig), dazu ein halber Liter Hauswein, 1l Wasser u zwei Espressi… schlampige 41EUR, das geht doch klar. Schaut vorbei wenn ihr gutes essen sucht:)
