Best gelato in all of Florence. A friend who had gone to school in Florence recommended this place when I was there to my birthday and damn was she right! Best gelato my family and I had in italy, the straccitella was on point!

A local lady raved about a couple of gelato joints on the other side of the Arno, but how do you get any better than transformative? Phil Rosenthal is correct in saying that Vivoli is the best gelato. And in the hierarchy of things from yuck to yum, gelato is already the best thing ever, so it stands to reason that a 2.50 euro cup of caffe and crema is a most epic experience or taste and texture. Don’t tell anyone about this place; I want to keep it to myself…

Solid spot. Not the best but very good. Phil Rosenthal recommends it and he has great taste. Try it amongst other gelato spots on your trip

BEST GELATO IN ALL OF ITALY!
We had gelato every night for the 12 nights we were in Italy. THIS PLACE was the best place we went to.
My favorite was the Lemone. Not even a lemon person, but it was amazing. Banana was also very good. I know, weird flavored right?! Everything we had was delicious!

Best Gelato I had in Italy!!! We had the Crema, Riso, Chocolate… OMG the best. That is all I have to say :)

The gelato was fantastic, but the pastries left something to be desired. As long as you go for the gelato, you will not be disappointed.

They have very nice gelato. Not a lot of flavors but enough to make it worth visiting then. People say it is the best gelato place in Florence. I think there are others that can arguably be up there.

Delicious gelato! With so many options in Florence it’s hard to know where to go. We tried the crema and strawberry. Crema had a more «eggy» taste than others we have tried which really added to the flavor. The strawberry tasted extremely fresh and flavorful and was surprisingly creamy for a fruit gelato. Lots of other additional flavors that I wish I had a chance to try as well!

In my option, tied for the best gelato in Florence! They have a variety of sizes and flavors and all are delicious. I recommend the strawberry (fragola), it was the best I had!

Vivoli was the first gelateria that we had visited in Florence, and we were impressed with it then. However, as we neared the end to our stay in our temporary home, we revisited Vivoli and were surprisingly underwhelmed. The flavors weren’t as robust as we had at gelaterias elsewhere in Florence. Additionally, the texture wasn’t as smooth, creamy, and rich. Additionally, the service left a bit too be desired – as I mentioned in my first review, they make an effort to make sure the gelato barely peeks over the top of the cups and the workers are very brusque, both of which really irked me this time around.
If you plan on being in Florence for a while, Vivoli is one of the oldest and most famous gelaterias here, so it’s worth checking out. However, if you could only try just one, two, or even three gelaterias, there are better ones to try in Florence.

When you visit Italy, you have to accept that you’ll have gelato at least twice a day. Vivoli is listed as the #1 gelato place in Florence and I don’t doubt it at all.
Gelato: The pistachio gelato at Vivoli is engraved in my heart forever, it left such a lasting impression. Super nutty, rich and decadent beyond compare. If you’re a pistachio lover like me, you gotta get it here. They have a wide variety of unique gelato flavors, fruity, creamy, chocolatey, etc. you name it.
Service: Pretty lame, they’re not as friendly here, just a quick order what you want and get out experience. But the gelato was perfect, I didn’t really pay attention to the service.
Price: It’s a bit pricey for the portion, I’d recommend sizing up and paying a little extra. You won’t regret it.
Ambiance: More quaint and rustic, reminds me of an old candy shop!
Overall: If you’re in Florence, I highly recommend stopping by Vivoli. It’s less busy than Gelateria dei Neri, but equally amazing.

I was at a local ice cream shop in the South Bay when I noticed that on a «top ice cream around the world» list, there was this gelato place in Florence listed as #1. Well, it just so happened that my boyfriend and I were going to Europe the following month. We added it to the list, got to Florence, checked-​in to our room and headed on over to Vivoli.
When we got there, it totally made sense why it was gelato on an ice cream list (I like to think of myself as an ice cream connosieur, and there is definitely a difference!). The flavors were great, but at the end of the day, it was definitely more ice cream than gelato. It wasn’t quite as creamy as the gelato I’ve had (in Italy and in the States). It also wasn’t as soft or melty.
But, those aside, IT WAS DELICIOUS, totally worth the trek to find it and so glad we did :)

Für Florenz halten sich die Preise sogar noch im Rahmen. Somit ist das Preis-​/​Leistungsverhältnis wirklich sehr gut.

I read about this gelato place from various Florence tourism websites that stated that this place is a «must try». Thankfully, after a light dinner with some time to kill before a concert at the Teatro Verdi, I was able to try it out. I’m really happy I read about it and remembered it was in this area, or else I’d never try it. The eggnog and hazelnut flavors were so rich that I couldn’t choose between the two. Thankfully, you don’t have to, so I had two small scoops for € 2.50. They were rich, creamy and hit the spot. I understand why this gelatteria is a must try and recommend it to anyone! Side note: they don’t offer cones, just bowls and seating is limited.

Oh man, Vivoli, you don’t replace Perche No! in my heart, but you are a close second.
Vivoli is a bit out of the way (depending on where you are staying in Firenze), but it’s well worth the walk. You would NEVER find this place unless you were aimlessly wandering, because it’s located in an area that has really nothing else around. You will know you’re there when you see people standing in a line.
I like this gelateria for many reasons, but I do have to say that my primary reason is because of the flavor variations. So many gelaterias have the basic flavors: stracciatella, pistachio, chocolate, nocciola, etc. I am in love with the millefoglie flavor here. If you have never had millefoglie in your life, you are missing out. They also have a case where you can get pastries, among them, slices of millefoglie. Love!
Lots of places to sit inside and enjoy, but I chose to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and people watch.
Prices are comparable to most other gelaterias, too. Nothing fancy here even though they have a reputation. Don’t miss out when you’re in Firenze!

Despite rave reviews from everyone else in my group, Vivoli was not my favorite. However, I do have to recommend their «riso» flavor! It’s so smooth, sweet and unique to this shop. My friend was disappointed when we couldn’t find anywhere else that offered it. Unfortunately, I decided to get raspberry and lemon. The flavor was pretty good but I really struggled with the texture. Anytime a shop tries to incorporate fresh fruit in their gelato, it never wins me over. Something about chewing on frozen raspberry seeds just doesn’t make me happy. Overall, I would give Vivoli another try, but just one because Florence is full of amazing gelato!

Hier gibt es das mit Abstand beste Tiramisu-​Eis der Welt! Für mich geht nichts über sahniges Eis, demnach fallen Fruchtsorten generell raus und ich kann dazu nichts sagen. Ich war zwei Mal hier und habe mir den Becher nur mit Tiramisu voll gemacht. Absolutes must eat in Florenz! Da kommt keine andere Eisdiele auf der Welt ran!

Good gelato. Small portions so get a bigger cup… I ate my small in less than 2 minutes! Other places in Florence had bigger portions for the same price.

ATMOSPHERE
Gets busy at times but not so busy that you’ll have to wait that long. We were confused going in and went right to the gelato stand to order. You have to pay at the cash register to the side and then take your ticket to the gelato area and give it to one of the ladies working there. They don’t tell you to do this, the ladies just stared at us and then we had to ask about paying beforehand.
SERVICE:
The people working here were definitely not as nice as the other gelato places we went to in Florence. It’s a quick pay, tell me what you want, and you’re done.

We came here after the rain started pouring down. We tried their lemon, white strawberry, dark chocolate, pistachio, coffee, and hazelnut. The pistachio was a bit disappointing. It lacked in flavor and nuttiness. I like some texture to my pistachio gelato. The white strawberry was also very weird tasting, almost artificial. I’ve never had anything white strawberry flavored so maybe that’s the natural taste but whichever, I was not find if the flavor.
Remember to pay at the cashier first before getting your gelato.

Famous once, bordering rip-​off now. Vivoli still makes a great gelato, but portions are really stingy, and nowadays there are a lot of Gelaterias out there who can provide a better product, with bigger helpings at cheaper prices.
It’s famous because it’s spot into the centre of Florence and strolling around the city it’s impossible not to be attracted by this little, almost shabby place, that looks (and still is) very «local».
But still there are better places, if you want to have that «been there bought the T-​shirt» effect try it out, if you are into some serious gelato action move elsewhere.

At the end of January I stopped by Vivoli Gelateria and saw they were closed for vacation… it almost broke my heart.
But when I stopped by on a rainy night just last week, it was open!
I got a cup with Fantasia, orange infused chocolate and rice (riso).
It was heavenly !

Leckerstes Eis überhaupt! Und wir haben viel Eis gegessen ;-) intensive Aromen, cremig, ständig wechselnde Sorten (was mittags leer ist, wird abends durch eine andere leckere Auswahl ersetzt) und probieren kann man auch.
Preise total angemessen!

Buscando heladerías en Unilocal me encontré esta en muy buena posición y bien cerquita de mi hotel así que decidí ir a probar si era verdad lo que decían. Y en efecto, de los mejores helados que he probado. Cremosos desde el primer momento, con la textura idónea de un helado y un sabor inolvidable. Yo pedí de pistacho, como si estuvieras tomándolos de aperitivo pero en versión dulce, y de crema de naranja, que me transportó por un momento de vuelta a Valencia. El de amaretto y mousse de café de mi pareja no tenían que ver con ningún otro probado antes.
Mira que da alegría acertar con los sitios en otro país. Me gusta más recomendar que desaconsejar :)
Por cierto, me apunto desde ya a la próxima cata de helados Unilocal Valencia!!!

Sagenhaft leckeres und cremiges Eis Ein bisschen kreuz und quer geht es, bis man das süße Glück ergattert hat und auf der Zunge zergehen lassen kann, aber es lohnt allemal. Innen gibt es geschätzt 20 Sitzplätze. Entsprechend groß ist der Andrang. Aber Dank Becher to go ist auch das kein Problem.

Das beste Eis, was ich je gegessen habe! Nicht billig, aber gemessen an der Qualität: günstig.

Legendäre Eisdiele. Gibt man in New York eine Postkarte auf schreibt als Empfänger Vivoli Firence kommt die Postkarte nach ein paar Tagen an hier an so hat man es mir erzählt.
Das Eis ist jedoch vermutlich wirklich eines der besten der Welt [next Stop Tichy in Wien]. Schokolade/​Pistazien sowieso. Wenn nur eine Kugel Cioccolata Noccoila.
Und wenn man feste Stückchen oder Kuchen /​Kekese im /​an cremigen Eis mag gibt es hier gleich mehrere Sorten. Auch die Torten zum Café oder nur etwas Torrone Mandel, Pistazien oder sonstige Kekse zum mitnehmen. Die Vivoli’s Interpretaion der Sachertorte schmeckt vermutlich nicht schlecht nur ‘né Sacher ist es eben nicht.
Auch die Fruchtsorten kann man sich auf der Zunge zergehen lassen. Leider hab ich hier mal um die Ecke kurze Zeit gewohnt und meine minimal Ansprüche an Eis wurden hier ziemlich hochgeschraubt.
Nach einem Besuch hier fühlt man sich einfach nur sehr gut. Liegt aber nicht nur am Zucker, den man zu sich genommen hat. Denn die Räumlichkeiten sind für eine Eisdiele sehr vornehm. Fliesenboden und holzvertäfelte Decke, Wandfresko und sehr sehr sauber. Immer. Man kann sich und seiner Begleitung hier mit einem Besuch sehr günstig das Gefühl verschaffen VORNEHM AUSGEGANGEN ZU SEIN.

kurz und knapp: super eis, nette bedinung, gute auswahl, fairer preis.
ganz klar mein favorit in florenz. aufjedenfall den kleinen «umweg» in die seitengasse nehmen und auf keinen fall eine eisdiele auf den hauptstraßen nehmen denn die sind meinst, naja, scheiße.

Une des meilleures gelaterie de Firenze. Des parfums inédits! Vous né regretterez pas le voyage, en tous cas pas vos papilles gustatives :-)

Ein Highlight zwischen den zahlreichen Gelaterien in Florenz! Zwischen Duomo, Piazza della Signoria und Santa Croce gelegen, lohnt es sich, eine Abstecher in diese Seitenstraße zu machen. Die Auswahl ist sehr gut und vor allem die verschiedenen Schokoladeneis-​Sorten sind sehr zu empfehlen! Wer es lieber fruchtig mag wird hier aber auch voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Ab 1,80 Euro bekommt man hier schon einen Becher mit zwei Sorten.
