During our vacation to Italy in October we ended up stumbling across this restaurant one evening and decided to give it a try. From the moment we arrived the employees were so friendly and very patient with our very basic Italian. The food and wine at this restaurant were superb as well. We like the restaurant so much we ended going back here for a second time on our last evening in Florence. Again the staff was very friendly and the food was great! I would highly recommend this business to anyone and I will be returning on my next trip to Italy. Although it is across the river from the historic center of Florence the walk is short and easy.

I visited this trattoria twice in August, it was one of the shining moments among many during my two week visit to Florence. Trattoria Sant’agostino is across the Arno river from the main tourist attractions Uffizi and Palazzo Vecchio, but is just a couple of blocks from Pitti Palace. It is definitely worth the walk. I say this because many places are tourist weary, but not here. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The Sommelier not only was very helpful with choice of wines, but helped me with my elementary Italian as well. The food was awesome, my favorites were the roast onion with pecorino cheese and the grilled chicken on a bed of green with flakes of hard cheese on top. The trattoria just opened last November, they are committed to providing the best food and dining experience for their guests.
