Hands down the best restaurant we have been to in Florence. The wine was amazing and just a short walking distance from the main streets. It is hidden so there are not many tourists. The steak is one of the best I have had.

We ate here twice during our vacation. It was so good and we wanted to try more things! Everything was great. We enjoyed the steak, gnocchi and fried bread the most!

Wonderful home-cooked food in a simple trattoria that looks like it’s been around for hundreds of years. Incredible prices at lunch — € 3 for a risotto with lampredotto — and € 6 for steak and cannelloni beans. Local wine by the quarter litre upwards and filtered water meant that the two of us had a stand-out lunch for € 22 all in. This place is full of locals and the staff are efficient but unassuming. If I lived near this place, I’d probably have lunch there every day!

Was taken here by Florentine friends and it was TRULYMAGNIFICENT. The steak was a winner. Delicious as can be. Everything was good — the beans, the veggies, the charcuterie. The cocolis were to die for. Prices were right too. Perfect ambiance, and a little off the beaten track, in a cool area! GO!

Per the recommendation of a Facebook friend… we walked to the«olteano«part and visited. trattoria I’raddi for some Florentine food with a twist… cool hidden place, had the chef’s specialty octopus and fish pasta and the wife had the gnocchi with zaffran eggplant and fried anchovies… was pretty good.

We were looking for a place that was okay with kids as we have a 3 year old. The restaurant opens around 730pm, and it’s best to make reservations. The fare was typically Tuscan. Emphasis on fresh, seasonal, simple food. We ordered the fagiole, black rice risotto with squid ink And pasta picci in bolognese sauce and zucchini. Pretty good, wholesome food. With 2 primi plates, 2 glasses of wine, a starter and a side, total: 60euros. Definitely not cheap. They were, however, comfortable with kids and after we arrived, a couple locals arrived with multiple kids in tow. Bring some coloring books, elmo, silly putty, crayons and you’ll be good.

This was by far and away the best meal we had in Florence. The opening course was a heavenly mushroom type of flan. I actually had to put my fork down and take a deep breath and just inhale this fabulous dish. Next up was a pork loin stuffed with cabbage. It was absolutely perfect. As we traveled around Italy my wife got in the habit of ordering a steak dish that is served on top of arugula and then has some Parmesan cheese on it a very simple dish. This was so perfectly delicious. It Was truly the embodiment of Italian cuisine, simple basic ingredients presented honestly and cooked to perfection him to bring out their finest flavor

Wanted to find a spot that wasn’t overrun with tourists and so took the positive Unilocal review in English and the others in Italian as a hopeful sign. So glad I did. We had a LOVELY dinner at this restaurant. It was empty when we arrived at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night, but by the time we left near 10pm, it was full to bursting with locals. My favorite was the Coccoli(which I’d never had before) as an appetizer and I had the handmade tortellini for my main pasta. All delightful!
