It was almost 7 when I arrived my hotel in Florence and finally settled down. I did not plan ahead and reserved any restaurant so I did not expect to have some decent dinner. This place was really a BIG surprise, the waiter was friendly and spoke english very frequently. The decoration of the restaurant was classy and comforting. And the food! It was just GREAT. I had raw diced beef, gnocchi, dry tomato cheese fish(these are ingredients, I forget it’s name) and some fruity dessert. I love the gnocchi and the tomato cheese fish best. They tasted really delicious and delicate. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back if I have the chance.

The worse restaurant in town. I cant believe i wasted one of my nights in florence dining at this restaurant. The service was incredibly terrible, food was ok, but the attitude of the waiters is the worse ive ever seen. If i could give CERO stars to this restaurant ili would certainly do so. This is not my first time in Florence, ive been here about 6 times and ive never ever had such a bad experience.

Frederico was an amazing waiter. The food is the most fantastic thing we have ever eaten. The chicken liver pâté is to die for. NEVER have I gone to a restaurant two days in a row. This place I would go back everyday. Of you visit florence, you have to visit. It will make your vacation.

Hands down, the best restaurant I’ve been to in Firenze. A few factors played a role: first, the staff was endlessly gracious. This was not a touristy restaurant, I was clearly a tourist, and yet, they showed no distaste, even when I was occupying a table, all by myself. I asked, as I often do, for the proprietor to bring me whatever he recommended. He didn’t even flinch, asking if I wanted an entrée or a main. I said entrée(assuming pasta) and in no short order, he brought me an off menu pasta with a lobster tomato sauce. It was singularly the best dish I had this entire trip. Even more delightful, is that a cocktail, the pasta and a coffee came in at 30USD. Not Euros… USD. I’d have paid 2x as much without flinching. On future trips, this will be my first reservation.

Wanting to dine outside the«touristy» area in Florence, and luckily I stumbled upon this place in the afternoon… the brick walls and spot light ambiance captured my attention, and was surprised by the prices after checking their menu. I took my friend back for dinner later on in the evening. the bar tender/owner(?) recognized me when we walked in, comp’ed us with glasses of prossecos: D The service was really good and the staff were really friendly. For example, they changed the plates/silverware after each course(even though my friend and I shared everything). Not too sure if it’s common practice in Italy(the other restaurant we went to the other night didn’t!). Only high end places in the US would do that… They have both«new/contemporary» and«traditional» dishes… judging from the complimentary amuse, i believe the«contemporary» dishes are modeled after El Bulli’s molecular-gastronomy concept… since we are tourists, we ordered from the«traditional» list… Everything tasted really great! We esp. liked the octopus soup with the polenta fries. Delicious!!! The baked duck was simple, well-seasoned and tasty. The house wine I had was probably the best house wine i had in my entire trip. For the services, the ambiance and the food quality, I would think they would charge at least double of what we paid for… :D this place looks high end without the high-end price tag!!! I would def. go back next time when I am visiting Florence :)

I had a great time here on Saturday with my fellow Unilocalers. The aperitivo was really well organized and the food was delicious! Specially loved their little polenta bites with artichokes. I was in particularly impressed with the bartender who was making our cocktails. I was watching him and he was very precise !! The amaretto sour that I had was delicious, perfectly mixed and very pretty ;) I appreciated how the staff went over every dish explaining what it was and what was in it. This restaurant is located not too far from porta romana and It’s not too far of a walk if you are in centro. I would HIGHLY recommend this bar, if you are with friends and want to meet up for an after work beverage … Santo Graal would be one of my top choices ;-) can’t wait to come back and try their cosmopolitan … looked really good.

I went to this restaurant with two other couples and was absolutely wowed by the food, atmosphere and… the food. Located in the oltrarno area on via romana, this restaurant has a contemporary cool décor with wine bottles lining the walls and a really architectual design that anyone would appreciate. You would never guess an awesome restaurant like this would be here and after living here for five years, I only discovered it recently. They have a great selection of wines, and even the table bread was superb — much better than your average tuscany restaurant. A great element of this place is that they offer both traditional and innovative dishes that you can try. They gave us a sample of ribollita with a twist which was delicious. As an appetizer me and my boyfriend shared a anchovey sampler dish which was amazing, and I have to also say their Tuscan dish was really impressive. As a first we ordered gnochetti with pecorino, sausage and cream which was delightful. Then we shared a plate of tagliata with rucola & parmisan. It was perfect, meat was of great quality and perfectly cooked. For dessert I got a special dish with coconut and pineapple while my boyfriend got a pecan cake with panna, both were amazing. Service was good, we thought the owner was very nice, but very slow(our reservation was for 8pm and we left around midnight. seriously!) They even offered us complimentary digestivi(grappa and lemoncello). I would most definitely come back here again and bring visitors The only downside is that it is very expensive, I think for the quantity(small portions), the first courses should have been around 10 euros, no more that that. also dessert should never be more than 5 euros. The price would probably keep us from coming more often but for a special occasion sure!
