It was recommended by our AirBnB hostess and she was right, it’s great. Started with a 4.50 euro ½l of house sparkling. We shared the pasta and pepper plus the bacalao. Both were really nice and better than the same pasta and pepper we had last night in Rome. Lunch for 2 was less than 20 euro with great service.

We’ve had here the best meal of our trip so far. The place is small and the menu changes everyday. Prices are great: we paid 30 something euros for a complete meal for two people, with wine. It’s not posh in any way, but definitively worth going!

3.5 stars if that were an option. The food here is above average, they have good options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Side dishes are nice, most of the plates are small but inexpensive. I have been here twice and the only thing that really bothers me is how the staff operates. It is a family run business, only a man and a woman working up front. They are on the slow side and a bit unorganized and sometimes forget what you have ordered. It takes a while to get seated if the owner is chatting it up with the locals, and it takes even longer to pay. It’s a very casual atmosphere. If you have patience, try it!

One of the best-kept secrets of budget dining in Florence. This is a tiny little restaurant(I always go for lunch) with a set lunch menu that changes daily. The food is made by the same people and it one of the places my Italian friends always go when they are in the center. Traditional food — very tuscan, I liked their bistecca con rucola & parmigiana, great potatoes and first plates. The perfect place to go if you are looking for an «authentic» restaurant. You won’t spend more than 10 euros a person, and the people who work there are very nice. Go early.

This is the third time I’ve been to this small eatery. It’s not really a café. More like a trattoria with fast service and an extremely high turnover, catering to what appears to be locals working in the area. I had the sliced beef with rocket and parmesan(tagliata con rucola e parmigiano). It was AMAZING. Juicy, rare, served hot, no gristle, with generous shavings of cheese and just the right amount of olive oil, served with a plump slice of lemon, it was seriously the best thing I’ve eaten in days.
