Riva Lofts provide a good respite from the hustle and bustle of the more centrally located Venice hotels– it was great to be in a neighborhood with locals and even better after a long day out to have the sanctuary of the hotel living room(complete with self serve honesty bar) and pool yard available to unwind. The kind staff made us feel welcome and answered all our questions. The décor is beautiful and comforting. All of this in total overshadowed the mattress needing an upgrade, so five stars well earned.

A bit away from the hustle and bustle of Florence, but it is a short tram ride into town. The hotel is beautiful with nicely appointed rooms. They have a shared living room where breakfast is served or where you can relax and utilize their honesty bar. We went in May and there were a lot of mosquitos… I am guessing from the still water puddles leftover from the rain! Mosquitos must be common as the hotel provides free mosquito repellents for you to plug in the wall though! I would like to give this place four stars but we had some mix-ups that cannot be ignored 1.Upon check-in, we notified them we wanted museum tickets booked. The next day we came by and they were not booked so we had to pick a new day as the museum was sold out. 2. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport when we checked out. We waited in the lobby and were told our car was here. We were the only people waiting in the lobby. The taxi driver stopped at a random location and said here it is… it was not the airport! We told him we were supposed to go to the airport and so he called the hotel and apparently there was a mix-up! Who lost in this? We did! Lost time and we had to pay for the extra taxi fare.
