Great local eatery. Tiny and unpretentious and cozy(read: tight). Not inexpensive. Portions not big; cooking is down-to-earth. It is not a deli( Unilocal category)

Best food I had in Italy. FANTASTIC!!! My husband and I are foodies. We stayed in Florence for 2 full days and stumbled into it and we loved it so much that we broke our NEVER rule — Never go into the same restaurant twice when you travel because you are out there to taste different food and culture. But we couldn’t help going back the second day. The staff is very efficient and friendly and patient with us. We are slow to order as we don’t know what those food are on the menu

if you don’t care much about the décor, then this hole in the wall trattoria offers simply amazing food, it was amongst the best I had in Italy. Though it is right in the heart of the tourist district(close to the Duomo), it was full of locals and that’s always a good sign.

When I stayed in Florence for a month about 5 years ago, I was a broke college student that couldn’t afford eating out. Man was I missing out! My husband and I were near the Duomo looking for a place to eat lunch. An app on his phone suggested this place, and I’m so glad it did! All the servers were extremely friendly and welcoming despite my limited Italian. Luckily one of the servers spoke English. My husband ordered the minestrone soup and I ordered the special of the day… papardelle with bolognese. I love fresh homemade pasta, so this was an excellent choice! I hear they always have good daily specials. For our entrée, we ordered the bistecca alla fiorentina… over 800 grams worth. They showed us the nice big cut before they cooked it. The steak had very simple flavors and seasoning, but it was one of the most amazing steaks I’ve ever had! It was perfectly cooked… nice and red but not bloody in the middle. It practically melted in our mouths! I knew this restaurant was a winner when I saw that we were the only tourists eating there. The place was packed with locals. Our lunch came out to be 44 Euros, but it was worth every bite!
