Had an amazing dinner here my first night in Florence. Staff were so welcoming and gave great recommendations. Try their House pasta, it’s amazing! I had the house pasta with wild boar meat sauce. The boar meat was very tender and delicious. The pasta was so fresh and cooked perfectly! I paired it with house red wine. Try the tiramisu if you have room for dessert!

Luckily this place was open because most resturants close around the time we came which was 10:30. The wasn’t many people here, so the service was very quick. My friend order the lasagna, which he enjoyed. I ordered the Tortellini Labbro di Prete which part of the separate pasta section than the primi piatti section. The portions I expected would be much bigger considering it was a separate pasta menu and I only ordered that. It was a small portion suitable to have before a second plate. It was a bit decieving, nonetheless the food was fine. Nothing too special but good for a quick dinner.

Great, delicious and authentic tasting Italian food. We ordered two simple meat and wild boar ragu pastas and loved both. Also the panna cotta was probably the best I’ve had; made in house! It’s in a central location but isn’t too touristy feeling. Has a little bit of rustic Italian kitchen feel to it.

My daughter and I stopped here late on night walking back from the Uffizi. We sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful meal. She had the best Calzone. I helped her eat it. It was enough for two and really made for an unforgettable end to a evening! I’m a visitor from California

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I stumbled upon this place, and it was pretty cheap, only 1 € cover charge! So I sat down and asked«pizza or pasta?» My waiter was SO kind and friendly(even to an only English speaking customer) :) He recommended a pasta and said it was the BEST. Trusted him and will now trust him with my life. It was honestly the best food I’ve had in all of Italy so far. Wow. And I’m not a tiramisu expert, but YUM.

Great pizza! Pizza is delish, pretty big and can share between two people. It’s pretty cheap too! A/C is always good too :-). Also they have a great selection of desserts including home made cheesecake– which was amazing!

Service is fine, but avoid it if you’re looking to eat. You’re in Italy. Look for an authentic Italian meal.

Worst meal in Florence so far. Gnocchi was decent but they looked store bought. The scallopini was way overcooked and the sauce was horrible… some kind of American gravy with corn starch slurry maybe? Salad was pitiful. I took two bites out of the entrée and that was it. Very nice staff but the food was below average. 25 Euros for a very poor experience. Avoid this place.

Pretty solid place for pasta in the city. We got tagliatelle with boar bolognese sauce and house made pasta with white pork sauce and both are quite good. They are both the specials of the day. This place does have a dude standing outside and trying to ask you to come in, which makes it a tourist trap looking, but I would recommend this place for the food and reasonable prices. Pastas are just under 10 eu each and the beer and wine are good priced too. Service was not slow for us too at around 7pm as we got our food pretty fast. We did not make reservations and was able to get an inside seating immediately. They do have nice outside seatings and it looked pretty full as we left so I would assume you want to make reservations for outdoor seatings.

We ordered four pizzas and a bottle of Coke here for lunch after wandering around the Uffizi for a few hours. There wasn’t really anything bad about our food – but nothing stood out about it, either. We had four different pizzas – one margherita, one with sausage, one with spicy salami, and one with ricotta, mushrooms, and ham. And, again, they okay, kind of what I’d expect from an American restaurant trying to do Italian food. Our waiter was good, did the bare necessities of his job. He did steer me clear of the pizza with speck and I think marscapone. I don’t know if it was because it was do different that he was worried I’d complain when i got it or if he really didn’t like it like he said, but I kinda wish I tried something different. I have to say the place was family-friendly. But overall, although we weren’t offended by the food we also didn’t think it was remarkable, either.

As others mention, this is a touristy place, so your experience will depend on when you go. We went for dinner quite late, so it wasn’t as packed. The staff was incredibly nice: attentive, funny, and warm. The menu items are very much ‘American Italian,’ not authentic, but if you’re looking for pasta with meatballs/bolognese or fettuccini alfredo(both American inventions), they execute well. My favorite was their panna cotta, which is on the English-language menu as ‘cooked milk.’ So, food and ambiance were a 4 out of 5, but service and ‘feels-like-home’ level were 5s.

This was probably my favorite pasta dish in Florence– we had the tagliatelle bolognese which was so fresh and satisfying. We also had pizza which was okay. We came to eat around 430 pm so it was very slow as this is not peak time but the server was a bit strange.

We fell for so many tourist trap restaurants in Italy so I was wary of coming here to eat, but luckily my expectations were blown away! Everything was delicious. We also got the strawberry panna cotta and it was so good!

If you are expecting a nice slow Italian meal, DONOTCOMEHERE. You will feel rushed from the moment you sit down. Otherwise, the food was really good. We ordered: Tagliatelle alla norcina sausage cream truffle sauce Gnocchi Alfredo Gnocchi pesto Tagliatelle with wild boar caprese salad Insulata caprese Margherita pizza Everything was delicious except for the caprese. The mozzarella had no flavor whatsoever. Otherwise, all the pasta was very good. The old man waiter was accommodating, and made the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. But the other two waitstaff people were rushing us the whole time.

I’m sure this place is a tourist trap but I didn’t care all that much because the food was awesome! After our walking tour, my husband and I were looking for a place to eat lunch and stumbled upon this place. I chose the restaurant because it had tagliatelle with bolognese, which is my favorite Italian dish. The food was delicious and probably one of the best meals we had in all of Italy. I ordered my favorite pasta dish while my husband chose to go with a signature Florentine dish which was their huge steaks. Our guide had informed us about how famous Florence was for their steaks and how it’s suppose to be cooked rare. Overall the steak was delicious and very simply flavored but definitely not the best steak we’ve ever had. The meal was wonderful and I still think about how delicious my tagliatelle with bolognese was! Our whole meal costs us just under 50 euro, which included a half liter of their house red wine, an appetizer, the two main dishes and the usual Italian service charge.

Two words… tourist trap. In the Florence centre, this fairly large restaurant sits waiting for unsuspecting tourist for Olive Garden like food at high prices. Service is haphazard and careless and the menu is really geared towards the North American palette. The English menu is a dead give away and so is the french fries … no one speaks Italian in the entire restaurant. All you hear is English or Japanese. It takes forever to get a waiter to come and serve you or get another glass of water. Food was no better than Olive Garden and to be honest, Olive Garden might be slightly better. All the food was overcooked(tough and dry meats, green yolks from overboiling them to death, pasta as floppy as a shoelace…) and barely had any flavour. Portions are ok, the place is clean, and convenient to the Florence core. That’s the select positive thing of this place.

Fantastic find. We veered left instead of right and the rest of our guided tour got lost… oh well. This is a perfect spot to have lunch. Authentic feel from the minute you walk in — though you can opt for outside seating as well. They have a wide variety of pasta dishes and pizza. Everything they served was fresh including the bread and olive oil. They offer kids menu which includes a drink and ice cream. But if you order anything for your bambino outside of the kids menu the ice cream is extra. Portions are large and this is not fast food. The experience is best if you have spent the day walking and have built up a good appetite. Good wine, beer, soft drinks, and bottled water. Our waitress was very pleasant– and spoke just enough English to get by– while the runner spoke no English at all… completing the experience.

Very friendly servers. Pasta was a bit too al dente. The pizza was okay. Wine was reasonably priced per bottle. Accepts credit cards. Came here twice because my boyfriend liked it a lot(he is Italian, I’m not)

After a full day of exploring and shopping(maybe too much) in Florence, we wanted to end our trip with a delicious Italian dinner. Determined to save our wallets, we avoided the touristy restaurants close to the Duomo and found Osteria after some wandering. We walked in and were greeted by Giovanni, who would turn out to be our welcoming and endearing server. The décor is beautiful and rustic, and you can find everything from vintage books to old keys on the walls. The atmosphere was warm and homey, just like I imagined my perfect Italian restaurant should be. We ordered the lasagna, which was hot and still bubbling upon arrival. One little bite revealed the perfect combination of mozarella, fresh tomato sauce, and flavorful meat pieces. The addition of fresh oregano and homemade Beschemel, or cream sauce, made it the best lasagna I’ve had to date. Giovanni was accommodating and funny, teaching us phrases of Italian and making sure we were satisfied between every visit. We chose strawberry panna cotta for dessert, and it was surprisingly delicate and not overly sweet. Panna cotta is like gelatinized whipped cream, super rich and oh so creamy. The whole meal came out to be 15 euro a person, a steal for such a magnificent meal in a city like Florence. Though it’s not custom to tip in Europe, our service was so exceptional that we had to. If you’re in Florence, please give Osteria de’ Peccatori a try!
