This is a great option to staying in a bed and breakfast or finding an apartment.
You just need to be aware that it is somewhere in between. Nobody is there when you arrive or depart or to ask questions, on the other hand there is a kitchen and great location for a very low price if you are a more experienced traveler with a cell phone to call if there is a problem, this is great and I would stay again. I was very happy with room and bathroom — elegant, particularly comfortable bed, wifi. On the other hand, I would have had some big problems if I had not had an italian cell phone or experience living in Italy before and knowledge of kitchen equipment (coffee machine, milk heater, etc…) for which there were no instructions at all. They have a clever system for security — a 4 number code that gets you into the building, then the apartment and finally, your room. The code was not set properly for me to get into the apartment and luckily I had my Italian cell phone to call for help — and luckily had a very quick (though not so friendly) response. The kitchen is well stocked for breakfast — including prosciutto and fresh fruit which you help yourself to. And I suppose that if you wanted to, you could easily make yourself a meal as well. Only one more note. It is located on the «second floor» (in the US, this is the 3^rd floor) and it is a walk up. So, if you have heavy bags, beware that you are schlepping the up 3 flights of stairs. Still, I repeat, for the attractiveness and comfort of the space and knowledge of moving around in Italy, I would absolutely stay there again.
