The best gelato. I found this place by accident and glad I did. It truly had the best gelato I had in Florence, or most anywhere in Italy for that matter. They’ve won a bunch of awards. The gelato is kept it in tubs in a freezer rather than display bins. I think that says something right there. It was so good that I walked back a few blocks to get seconds.

I really enjoyed the friendly service. Loved the coffee and sandwich to go since I was running late.

We stayed in a B&B around the corner and ate here every morning and again in the afternoon over multiple trips to Florence. It is a locals joint that we thoroughly enjoyed. Coffee and seemingly homemade pastries each morning. There is space in the back and along the back ally. The tables are small and dinged up, but the place had a working mans charm that was simple and refreshing.

The best thing about this little bar is that they have Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies !!! I highly recommend their vegetarian lasagna with pesto(beware to all with nut allergies). The staff is very kind and attentive and I enjoy coming here every now and then when I am passing by piazza della passera. They charge a little extra than normal bars for drinks, I am guessing because they are so close to main tourists sites(Palazzo Pitti, Ponte Vechio). I prefer coming to this bar for a quick coffee in the morning or for a light lunch. They have a great lunch menu, nice greek salad, and quite a few other vegetarian options. I came here once at night when there was a musical event and I found that it was way too cramped, meaning this place is a bit small so when it is moderately crowded it feels really really stuffy inside. That’s why I like it during the day(specially during the spring) when it’s less crowded and they can open the windows. It’s cute, an OK option.

This is my favorite wine bar in Florence. Their house red wine is really really good and not overly expensive. At first, the place seems incredibly small, but there is a back room and a room upstairs. The wait staff is really friendly, but they speak little to no English, so I would advise brushing up on your Italian before you go! My favorite thing about this little wine bar is that on Friday nights, there is always live music upstairs. It is a perfect place to meet up with friends, enjoy some wine, and listen to a lively little band. It is the perfect way to end a great day in the most beautiful city in Italy!
