This place was recommended to my brother. We came here at around 1900. There was no line and we immediately sat outside. It was a rainy day in Florence and thankfully there was a glass ceiling to protect us from the rain. We ordered the antipasto Toscano with had a conbo of meat, cheeses, and bruchetta with mushrooms. It was a good appetizer to start with; very flavorful. I ordered the lasagna alla bolgnese & he ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with truffle. Both dishes were very good and very flavorful. you can taste the truffle and you can even smell the truffle which is amazing. We had to order dessert. we had the tiramisu and crème brûlée. Both very delicious. I’m very picky and scared to try tiramisu but this place made me happy to try it. It wasn’t too strong but just the right amount of flavor to make me fall in love with the dessert again. Definitely would come back if I ever come back to Florence and id definitely recommend it. The staff is amazing and it was crowded half way thru our course. There was a line of people waiting so it’s worth it to come early.

This was not the best meal we ate in Florence. We had the spaghetti alla carbonara and the gnocchi alla sorrentina. They were ok. The sauce for the gnocchi was tasty, but the carbonara was really mediocre. I understand that pasta carbonara isn’t a specialty in Florence, but if you’re going to put it on your menu, it better be decent! The pasta tasted like it was from a box. Service was fine, but the waiter seemed a bit snooty. The bathroom was really clean.

Absolutely delicious! We have been working our way through The Tuscany region and this great restaurant was recommended from the owner of the apartment we rented.(VRBO). Service was excellent and the food was perfect. We had the Italian salad to start and a pizza and lasagna. It was all amazing. Very simply Tuscan. I’m not going to elaborate because it was delicious! Enough said. Here’s the thing for us Americans traveling abroad. PLEASE be patient!!! Dinner is an evening experience here. Do not be in a hurry. 15– 20 minutes from sitting down to talking to a server possibly. Maybe not. Just be cool and wait for it. Reward yourself with the very reasonably priced and delicious wine from the local regions. Order flat water if you don’t want sparkling water. Also, I will share that I saw a few customers eating pizza with a knife and fork but our server(who was great) informed me that you can eat the pizza however you want. For him with your hands, like i do in the USA. Food is great here and you should consider this place because even though it is fairly Close to the tourist area, it is also very much a local destination as well.

Absolutely delicious lunch! We originally came here because one of my friends is gluten free and they’re known to have many options. The décor inside is fancy and upscale feeling, but the prices are inexpensive and very affordable. A large chandelier on the ceiling was a beautiful touch. I got the artichoke tart with was loaded with flavor, tiny but very filling. Surrounded by fresh greens that were certainly not the«throw away» salad many restaurants offer. My friend also enjoyed her gluten free pasta, and, as a gluten-lover, and can even say that it was very close to the real thing. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

Loved this restaurant! It was right up there as one of my favorite meals in Florence. Had a late lunch and family had a multitude of dishes. All fresh and flavorful! I had a steak with arugula, citrus, etc. I can’t remember the name, but it was by far my favorite steak dish of the trip. This restaurant was everything that I love about Italy and the food — fresh, clear flavors… just true to the food. Nothing crazy, just delicious. I would include this on my next trip to Firenze without question!

The gluten free pizza is amazing and made in a safe kitchen. If you have Celiac Disease and it’s been a while since you’ve had decent pizza, you will cry with happiness.

Great pizza and very accommodating to people with Gluten allergies. Had the Napoli which was a margarita with anchovies and olives. It was excellent. Nice location with outside seating

We saw the restaurant pack with people, so we just gave it a try. What a good bet. As the names describe, the restuarant is family run. The sons is running around servicing guest. Staff are super friendly. Romantic ambience. Food is delicious. I have pizza, best pizza I ate in Italy. The crust is paper thin and full of topping. After pizza, i still hv room for something else. Lasagna is delicious. Love it love it…

Guys, if you want authentic Italian food, please please DONOT come here!!! There’s a reason why only tourists visit this place. It’s totally Americanized, from the ambient to the food. I ordered lobster pasta and that was exactly the same of what you can have back in the States. The portion, the taste, totally Americanized. Definitely go to other places for authentic Italian food.

Ciro & Sons is a delightful restaurant in a city of some pretty solid food. We ate their two nights in a row, it was that good. Their are 4 sons that run the place and they care about the restaurant. Giuseppe probably runs the front of the house and he’s the perfect Italian restaurant stereotype. Charming beyond belief and passionate about putting out a good product. My wife thought he was the ideal waiter. We had pizza the first night; wife loved it but I wasn’t aswild about it. It was terrific tasting but the crust wasn’t all that crisp. It would appear that this might be the Tuscan way since the others haven’t been all that cooked either. Great salad and ever better coffee to close out the meal Fantasitico!

Honestly, I do not understand the great ratings here. This was the worst meal we’ve had in Italy so far(one month in). The gnocchi was soggy and buried in cheese. The seafood pasta was inedible. The best thing we ate was the salad. The restaurant was packed — mostly with people taking photos and talking on the phone. The tables are so close together that we saw two different waiters knock over glasses of wine while trying to serve the diners. The environment was chaotic, food totally uninteresting and more expensive than most other places.

Best gluten free calzone I’ve ever had. Even my boyfriend who is not gluten intolerant thought it was delicious. It was so good I asked to meet the chef so I could tell him that he was a miracle worker. Highly recommend for anyone gluten intolerant travelers in Florence.

I like this place. Nice casual dining spot. Really nice outdoor seating area. It’s typical sidewalk location, but with some décor, cushioned seating and a bit of a barrier from the rest of the streetscape. The place is a little Americanized, but the food is still fantastic. Great service as well. I didn’t order from the menu… just had the waiter suggest something for me. He took the instruction to the kitchen and they made a very good pappardelle/sauce/protein combo. I loved it. I saw the Bistecca Fiorentina going to another table, and was a little bummed I didn’t order it. It looked and smelled amazing — yes, I am a food creeper. If you’re in the neighborhood, Ciro is a terrific option. I don’t know that I’d cross town to get to it, but it’s a solid play if you’re in the area.

This was my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Florence and one of my favorite in Italy. They have a great outdoor patio, attentive service, and a prime location right near the center of town. You can get to it quickly from the train station on your way to the Duomo. They serve Bistecca alla Florentina, the local Florentine specialty. We did not get it because you have to get a minimum amount of steak. It was far too much for the two of us. If you are with a group of people, it would be a great share dish. Since we didn’t get the bistecca, we opted for a steak served with a balsamic cream sauce and strawberries. It was delicious! We also had the gnocci with fresh mozzerella… best pasta dish I had in Italy. So yummy! For dessert we had the most delicious tiramisu ever. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

We were in Florence for 5 days and we ate here twice. Very friendly, great service, and some of the best gluten free pizza. Crust has great texture and mouthfeel, just the right amount of chew. Our favorite place. Not sure why it’s listed as having high prices. A personal pizza ranges from 8 –12 euros so depending what you order you won’t need a whole paycheck. Say hello to the hostess, loved her!

What a nice lunch treat we stumbled on. This place looked promising as we walked to the train station. Beautiful interior a former home to a powerful Pope. Staff is very friendly and one of the son married a US mid-western girl, so English is not a problem here. We share a wonderful salad, pizza and each a pasta, the lasagna being the best. All was very good the salad was a highlight also as the tomatoes were amazing and arugula very flavorful. Nice selection of wines and ½ bottle selection was great for lunch.

Whoa, why does this place have so many $$$$?! It’s really not that expensive! This is a really lovely little restaurant that is easy walking distance from the Riccardi Medici Palace and relatively close to the Accademia Gallery(which are both must sees in Florence). Like most eateries here, they have a tiny little outdoor patio, but this one was extra lovely with cushioned seats, plenty of shade under the umbrellas, white linen tablecloths, and big gorgeous plates for all of your food. It felt extra fancy and breezy and quaint, even with the servers dressed in their Hawaiian shirts! Ciro & Sons has an incredible gluten free menu, which is the reason we sought it out. Seriously, they have a HUGEGF menu. Almost everything they offer can be prepared gluten free except for their ravioli and some artichoke pastry/pie thing. I felt like I didn’t even have a dumb food allergy as I browsed through the menu and actually had to turn pages. It was pretty amazing and I didn’t know where to begin. We decided to start with some classic bruschetta, gluten free bread topped with plenty of diced cherry tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. I do think there was a bit too much oil on the plate, but it was soooo good that it didn’t matter. A high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil can’t be beat, so you know I ate every bite. Next, I enthusiastically ordered the Lasagna Bolognese. I never get to order lasagne at a restaurant, so I was thrilled. It was like a big beautiful mess on my plate… This did not look like a hard chiseled block of lasagne carved out of a casserole dish. No, it was a melty blob in the best way. Seriously hot and ridiculously cheesy with a ton of beautiful tomato sauce and fresh herbs. Again, the dish seemed to be a bit too oily overall, but it was still incredible and I happily cleaned my plate. So extremely delicious! Be aware that if you want to order gluten free pizza here at Ciro & Sons, you have to call ahead of time and make a reservation so they can prepare it. I didn’t know this, so I was unable to order the pizza since we showed up without notice. I wasn’t disappointed, however, because I was still able to peruse a comprehensive menu of beautiful and classic Italian cuisine, and enjoy some lovely bruschetta and lasagne… as everyone should in Florence!

Excellente! The service was superb and food delish. Even though every restaurant in Florence closes early, we were able to get a table walking up at 9 for inside. The staff was very friendly. I speak little Italiano or broken Italian so it can be challenging at times. However, a couple of waiters knew English which helped. One runner even apologized for not knowing any English. I told her no problem but wished I could have translated that we should be the one apologizing! The service passed American standards. The followed up on every plate and even asked us if we wanted the check. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo de tartufo(fettuccine alfredo with black truffles). It was so good… I ate it all. My hubby ordered the cheese ravioli which was OMG good… I was jealous. We even ordered dessert knowing that nothing would be open after we left.
