Hey people note the location of this place! Yes, it is expensive because you just walked off one of the most, if not the the most expensive jewelry streets/bridges in town, and maybe the world, for that matter. So, yes, our two teas(from a generous pot) with milk and a single pastry entitled us to sit down and to use their restroom for 15 €. After walking around town for a couple hours, I guess it was worth it. But, seriously, is any ice cream worth 8 €? You must have too much money, so stop complaining about a place that knows where it is(and apparently you don’t)!

I don’t do this often, but run, don’t walk FROM this place. We decided to stop in for some gelato and were warmly greeted. My two sons and wife each ordered a cone. We’ve been enjoying gelato daily throughout Italy and pay 2 – 3 € for a cone. The gentleman gave us slightly larger cones than typical, so I expected a slightly higher price. I was then directed to cashier to pay. Imagine my surprise when a 20 € couldn’t cover the bill. EACHCONEWAS8 €!!! Yes, the gelato was delicious, but what a scam and rip off.

After crossing the Ponte Vecchio in Firenze a friend and I decided it was time for a gelato break. We thought this café seemed to have a good selection so we walked in and were greeted by some friendly staff. We each ordered a medium size gelato which will cost about 3 € and decided to sit for a rest. Nope. Not here. Apparently you can only sit if you order coffee or a beverage, though the price of said beverage would be the same as the aforementioned gelato we had just purchased. Needless to say I was a bit disenchanted by this policy. Especially as a staff member, a few moments later, asked me to help him as he was carrying one case of water too many. Really?
